Since weddings are so popular at the GF I was wondering if there were bad experiences with rowdy bachelor parties? Thanks for any opinions.
UGH! i would hope that they wouldn't tolerate that!
We stayed at the GF for a week last september, and we did have one unsettling experience related to a wedding there.
We wanted to take a late (for us) swim around 10 pm. Took DD down there as reward for sitting so well through a long dinner at Narcoosees hours before.
Just into the water a few moments and then suddenly there were about half a dozen old guys with cigars by the side of the pool (they had apparently had a few) and they began leering at my daughter, and loudly telling jokes that were not for general audiences. Also, heard one of them say he was the father of a bride that had gotten married that day at the hotel.
The rest of the bridal party came into the pool within 5 minutes of cigar guys arriving...and they were stinking drunk. Guys began tossing bridesmaids around the pool, literally. The bride arrived and declared of her wedding day "Boy am I glad THAT'S over!" how romantic is THAT?
I grew so uncomfortable with the gallery of male eyes staring at my 7 yo daughter that I asked my husband to get her towel, whispered in her ear that we would swim lots the next day to make it up to her, and I covered her up and we went back to the room. she was uncomfortable and didn't complain at all, she said "I understand, Mom."
If I had it to do over, I would have complained to management. The group just took over the pool; all the other families left as well when we did. They had obviously had too much to drink that night, and they shouldn't have been allowed to drive everyone else out.
But that was it, the next morning they were all gone (YAY!) from the resort, and we had a FABULOUS week!
If anything untoward started to happen again there, I would not hesistate to complain to a manager.
I seriously cannot imagine them allowing a 'traditional' bachelor party to take place there. Maybe something at Pleasure Island but still, nothing really wild. This is disney after all!
