snow in Delaware made us take a short trip at 10 days notice. booked on Jan 28 for FEB 7-11 ( 4 nts )and got 2 studios in building 14 ( can you believe that right across the street from HH ) same floor (rooms 1422 and 1426 ) decent views but it wouldn't have mattered.
Check-in quick at 1 pm ( 1 room ready ) ate lunch at olivias then (2nd room was ready).
Monday great weather just hung around.
Tues. 78 degrees great. Went to AK then MGM and at night to PI for MARDI GRAS. Used the DDE for 1/2 price at PI for BIL and me and my DW got 1/2 price for her and my DS. INstead of $20.95 each we got in 2 for 1. plus tax total $23 something for 2 of us. the card works.
Wed 79/80 degrees
Thurs 65 degrees but cool . We sat at Captain Jacks margarita Bar( at DTD) from NooN till 2 drinking you guessed it ( the 1800 margaritas)and no I don't know just what's in them but they worked. Then we ate at Earl of sandwich great food.
Went to Epcot that night and it was very cold.
FRI up at 5 am for 8 am flight on Airtran. $49 each way ( that's why we went)

Also used the DDE at Olivias twice, Mama melrose's,ESPN, Trails end, and Biergarden in Germany. Saved about $60 + total at all sites for 4 of us.

The DDE card is great. All we had was the e-mail paper and had no problems at all.

Total savings with DDE card used at PI and Meals= about $100 +/-
Any ?

Thanks for the report! We used our DDE card (but only the paper membership email) in January and also thought it was a great perk, and we were so thankful for all of the input about it here on the boards that loed usto purchase it in the first place.

Anyways, glad to hear that you escaped the cold on such short notice. I ahve to ask, if you don't mind, where in DE you are from, since we too live where "its great to be first" (gotta love the lame new state slogan) and don't meet too many people who know about DVC much less are members (We're in Middletown).

we just purchased the DDE and will use it in April for hubby and I and our two grandkids who are coming with us..........SOunds like a good deal to me too......Thanks again

Just curious, but how do you get the card--what is the cost versus the benefit. I haven't been on any boards except trip reports and the cruise on in a while. I guess once the cruise is beyond us I will again venture onto the other boards. Thanks for the replies in advance.

you need to order by phone (1-407-566-5858 ) for AP holders and florida residents the cost is $50 a year. Some say it's available to everyone but I'm not sure. It was a perk for Florida residents first then they added it to AP holders I think. Others will know more about it. You get 20% off dining (up to 10 people)at a lot of disney restrauants and includes drinks, even booze.
We just saved about $100 last week for 4 of us at OKW and the parks and at PI. We just got the card(e-mail_ and still have 2 more trips to use it this year)
