Hi! :wave2: Just wondering if anyone has gone on a DVC tour and left the kids w/ the babysitting service? I am just not sure I want to leave my DD2, 6months w a stranger. I might if I knew there would be more than one person alone w/ her. Can anyone who has done this give me any insight on it. I am just one of those really nervous parents who are not comfortable leaving the kids w/ people I dont know. I have a cousin who did and her child was shaken. SBS. :guilty: Very sad. So now I am paranoid.
Any info would help! Thanks!

We did this when my dd's were 3 and 14 months. It was just fine. The babysitting room is a set up like a playroom with areas for younger children and older children on separate sides. There AT LEAST two caregivers there...if i recall, there might also have been a third person. My dd's were just thrilled to have some time to just play with the toys and dd was glad to find a child-sized bathroom. We had to sign them in...so they were very secure. My girls had a great time...and we weren't really very far away if they needed to find us.

We also did this. They do have at least 2 people there with the kids. They gave us a pager just in case the kids needed us. We really weren't that far away from them. I don't leave my kids with anyone but my mom and sometimes MIL, so I can totally understand your concerns. The play area is set up so nicely and DD had such a great time. My kids were the only ones there at the time and they were spoiled. They had juice boxes and cookies(they asked before they gave them any) and the ladies gave them undivided attention and played with them and colored with DD. They also had toys.

Thanks for putting me at ease. I think I will give it a try. It may be different now, but where was the babysitting service? I am thinking it will be at SSR because that is the resort they are currently selling?

We went in March and while we didn't leave my daughter there (she was 2 years, 2 weeks at the time), our friends left their kids (5, 7, and 9yo) and it seemed like a really safe place. The only reason we didn't leave our daughter was that she wouldn't stay. She was slightly afraid of the friend's 5yo who was very rough with her so I think that's what scared her, so we just took her along with us and she was fine. The friends got a pager though, there were 2 caregivers (both female if that matters to you) and the kids had fun and had lots of coloring pages when we got back. Oh, and we did leave our daughter in Flounder's Reef on the Disney cruise ship when she was 3.5 months old and she was fine and we felt comfortable with her there.

When we were there last March (as SSR), it was right in the same building where the sales reps meet with you before you take your tour....and the sample villas they walk you to (past the pool) are all very close by.

At the end of the tour, they take your whole family to a little room set up like an ice cream shop....just an FYI in case it is close to meal time. The scoops were pretty small though (not a criticism, we usually find ice cream scoops are way too big and end up on the ground- these were perfectly child-sized).
