Baby's first trip? I claimed I'd never take an infant to WDW! A Dec 2012 PTR.

My name is Jaci and officially as of this morning, I've completely lost my mind.

You see, my DH and I are expecting our first child. I'm 13 weeks pregnant... and have had the Disney itch since before we found out of our jellybean's existence! hence we had been considering an early Dec 2012 or late Jan 2013 trip!

I am elated to be expecting our little one in July 2012, but my only mild sadness was cancelling our plans to go to the happiest place on earth! :guilty:

This morning DH and I were discussing WHEN exactly we'd go back and he asked me why we'd decided to cancel in the first place? We've got guts! We're willing to sacrifice doing everything we want to do... we're willing to make this trip about us being a family of 3 at WDW for the first time ever, rather than having a list of things to do! I'm all for chill trips.

And we decided to DO IT! We're not telling too many people, especially considering I recently said to my BFF "taking a baby to WDW would be insane" and she agreed! :lmao:

Soooo here we go! This is my pre-trip report, it will be focused on counting down to our LO's arrival, saving saving saving for this crazy dream of ours and all the planning! :cloud9:

Congrats on your upcoming baby and your WDW trip at the end of the year.

I don't think going to WDW is entirely insane as long as you are prepared. Having a stroller, carrier, and idea what the baby can go on and where you need to use the baby swap will make it alot easier to handle.:thumbsup2

Good luck, I can't wait to read all about your trip.popcorn::

So it *finally* happened. Someone said to us "Why don't you just wait until your kid is old enough to remember Disney World?" :rotfl: I knew it would happen soon!!!!

My answer went something like this, "Husband and I can't wait to look back and remember that precious toothless, drooly face in our Mickey pictures... someone will remember!" That shut 'em up pretty quick.

And then there was the "When I went with my daughter in the 90s we couldn't do ANYTHING fun, rides-wise. It was boring and limited. You should get a babysitter to watch the baby while you go.". My answer "well, now they have this awesome thing called baby swap! It won't be the same without a kid attached to my hip at that point." BLAM, another mouth closed.

Plus, even if I don't get to ride Tower of Terror (errr, not my favorite anyway)... I'll be snuggling my favorite precious little bean in my favorite place in the entire world. What could be better than that? :wizard:

This is DH and me!

DH
25, wildly adventurous and outdoorsy. He works for REI (outdoors store) and a ropes course facility. His passion is climbing things. And he gets paid to do it!! Whomp, whomp. He's not as much of a Disney fanatic but puts up with my insanity and enjoys Disney.
Favorite ride: Expedition Everest
Fav Disney Character: He's always loved The Animal from the Muppets. Does that count? Oh, and anything Star Wars!

Me:
23, Disney nutcase. It began at age 20 when my best friend and I began planning a girls only trip and all of a sudden I began to remember why I loved Disney so much as a little girl. I recently became a Disney Specialist Travel Agent. I know lots, but have learned so much. I'm currently working on a travel blog, will be posted in my signature when its launched fully.
Favorite Ride: Tie between Space Mountain & Dinosaur
Fav Disney Character: Ariel has always been my girl! I've always longed for her red hair... I married my DH for his red hair and I hope our baby comes out fiery too!
