Okay, call me wierd, but I'm insisting that DD's first hair cut be at the World. We went last year when she was 18 months and DH resisted, but now he insists she needs one, and since I'm requiring that she gets it at the Main Street Barber Shop or nothing, he's considering.

The question is...do they let you keep a lock of her curls?

ABSOLUTELY! They wrapped our sons hair in a napkin, sprinkled some pixie dust (metallic confetti) and wrapped it and sealed it with a Mickey sticker!

DH really wanted our son's to be at the Main St shop as well but we had to cave and cut it today because he could barely see. He got his first hair cut before his first tooth. We'll probably get a tiny trim at the Main St shop anway for photos.

If you tell them that it is a first haircut they are really good about keeping some of the locks for you. Each of my sons had their first haircut there and both times they wrapped the hair up in a tissue and sealed the tissue 'envelope' with a Mickey sticker. For a first haircut you also get a very nice looking certificate and Mouse ears that say "First Haircut" on the back. Of course neither of my kids wanted anything to do with the strap on the ears. :)

Oh I am so with you on the first hair cut at the Main Street Barber shop. I swear my lil man will need pigtails by the time we go, but I swear to you, he will not get it cut before then!:rotfl: If you look real careful in my siggy pic, you can see that he already has quite a bit of long hair now!

DW and I are hoping our DS will be ready for his first haircut when we are there in July. He will be just shy of 9 months. He was born with a nice tuft of hair but most of it fell out as he would rub his head into our arms or what ever he was laying on/in. Except for a small tuft on the back of his head right above his neck. It was too cute. Anywho, we will probably have him get a small trim cause i don't think we can wait till Aug 08 when we are back.:)

I so wanted to get DD's first cut last September there, but she truly did not need one! Now that she does, I am holding out for next September. My DH keeps saying she needs one now, I keep putting her hair back in a rubber band so she can see! I'm determined to wait!

We also had our ds's, who had just turned one, haircut at WDW. It was awesome, and definitly worth the wait! I was tempted to get him a haircut for his birthday party, and am so glad I waited! I also waited around 20 minutes at the barber shop, but again, totally worth it! It will always be one of my best WDW memories! And it was just as reasonable as the haircuts back home!
HTH!

My DD is 4, and has never had a real haircut, although I've trimmed her bangs a few times. She was born with "peach fuzz" that stayed fuzz until she was 1. Now she has blond, wavy hair that grows VERY slowly - wasn't even long enough to pull into pig tails until she was 2.5. Even now it's just barely past her shoulders. I want to get her first "real" haircut at WDW in August, but I'm afraid they will think we are complete liars -- we had to get DS's hair cut at 1 -- do other kids' hair grow this slow?

We got our son's first haircut at Disney - I kept trimming around the ears but waited to get the real cut at Disney. They were really great keeping him occupied and saved some of his hair that they wrapped in tissue with some of the pixie dust and sealed it with a mickey sticker and then gave us a "My first haircut" certificate and a set of mickey ears that say "my first haircut". I'll just warn you though that we went in the morning and there was already a long line so try and get there first thing! It was worth it though!

DS was 18M when we went. I'd trimmed his hair at home (not like a girl! Can't just let it keep growing! LOL) but this was his first professional haircut. (counted to me! ;) )

Dad go his hair cut at the same time - first father/son haircut.

We will be there in October/November & I'm looking forward to having my DS first haircut there. We will be there for his 1st birthday & I'm hoping to have his cut on the day of his birthday. It'll be so much fun & I can't wait to take pictures :)

Those are ADORABLE pictures. Thanks for sharing. :)

We're WDW bound next week and DS is 18 months and his hair is out of control and needs to be cut. I am hoping we can squeeze in his first haircut if it's not too crowded.

Did you get to keep the set of first haircut Mickey ears? I wasn't sure or not! Thanks!
