I just heard this wonderful news on twitter and knew there would be others here that would like to know as well. From the DTDBabyCakesNYC twitter handle:

"We are proud to announce that you can now request BabyCakes items for dessert when you make your Walt Disney World dining reservations!"

That's all I know for now. I'm trying to find out the details. If you know something, please add it here. :cutie:

Possibly they mean they are going to provide vegan items to the restaurants and if anyone notes on their reservation that they are vegan, or asks for a vegan or dairy free dessert, that is what they'll get. Nothing from Disney about it yet.

On Facebook they added the following.

When you call the dining line, 407.WDW.DINE you can request to have our items added on to your dining reservation, just like when you order a celebration cake with your meal!

To me this sounds like it's something you need to pre-order like a cake or chocolate slipper. I'm super excited but definitely requires preplanning and prepayment. I also doubt the dessert items will qualify as the dessert option using a dining plan and at fixed price restaurants I'm assuming it'll mean an extra cost. Note that this is my own interpretation and not anything said by a representative of either WDW or BC. I'm excited even if does mean I'll be spending more money.

I just called the Disney Dining number and they haven't put any information about it into their system yet. I spoke with a very sweet cast member who tried her best to find out more, but no one seemed to know. They (CM I spoke w/ and the others she was asking for help from)
didn't actually know that BabyCakes existed. The only thing in the system about BabyCakes was it's location at Downtown Disney.

Perhaps there will be an update to the system sometime soon.

After the experience I just had on the phone, it seems that maybe the cake hotline will be the way to go about getting it.

I am waiting to get more information on this. It was included as part of the Allears newsletter but not much more info than what was listed here. I guess I can just call and see what happens but it sounds like I will be frustrated.

Babycakes commented on Twitter a little while ago that you could call them to add a cake to your ADR's. I'm guessing that means you would call them directly instead of going through the cake hotline...unless the cake hotline can connect you to them. Then my guess is that Babycakes will deliver the cake to whatever TS you are requesting it for. I don't know if there are any places that they do not/cannot deliver to.

I was emailing with Emily from babycakes using the email address I found on their website before our November trip. The last email I received from her on November 3rd said that they hadn't worked out the ordering system through Disney yet, but if I gave her the name of the restaurant, date, time and ADR number, they would do their best to make it happen. In the end, we decided not to order anything special to go with a dining reservation. We did, however, visit the bakery three times that week for doughnuts. My boys have never had doughnuts (or even been in a bakery) before and they enjoyed them immensely! :thumbsup2

If this is something you are more interested, I would try contacting them directly. They seemed very eager to help make it happen.

I'm really wishing that this becomes an option! We're going at the end of Jan and have free dining and all my desserts will basically just be a waste b/c I won't be able to eat them. I thought their cupcakes were around $4, so it would be AMAZING if they would offer them as a dessert option for those of us that can't have regular desserts. Maybe I'll call at the beginning of Jan. and see if they have this set up yet, sounds like you can just order cakes and such right now.

Also, you can note your allergies on your ADRs and also tell the waiter upon arrival and the chef should come to your table at most, if not all the places you go to. Very often, they already have special desserts for those of us w/ allergies/ intolerances. If Babycakes doesn't work out, don't be discouraged. I've had many fantastic desserts at TS restaurants without Babycakes being involved.

Very true! It's exactly why we have to have at least one ADR a day b/c it's difficult for me to eat at CS restaurants. I have had some special desserts made for me, but not always and maybe that's b/c I was already full from amazing meals! (or they just offered a fruit plate.) I plan on going to Babycakes anyway on the first night and getting a few cupcakes, so I can always just have those back at the resort!

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a plan!

Thanks everyone for the input!!

I had in my notes that I called back in July and they told me to contact them closer to my trip. I emailed Emily and she told me to call the bakery directly to order a 6" cake to be delivered to any WDW dining reservation.

I just called and she was super nice! I just had to give her my name; phone number; date, time, place & confirmation number of the reservation; what kind of cake; and any allergies.

I ordered the blondie cake (vanillia with chocolate chips) with chocolate icing! It'll be delievered to our Spirit of Aloha show so I'm excited to try out this new process as well as this cake! We ordered one of the "allergy friendly" cakes through Disney back in 2008 and we didn't like it. Maybe if all goes well, they will expand this feature in the future!

And yes, I've always been offered a dessert even without BabyCakes involved. I've had chocolate chip Divvies, Rice Dream ice cream and fruit. Disney is really accomodating with allergies ! :thumbsup2

This is great, we looooveeeeed :lovestruc BabyCakesNYC!!!!

My DD is allergic to soy and dairy, and apart from three colored popsicales, that she loves, the only real dessert she had at the world were babycakes, and she loved them.

GREAT NEWS:banana::banana::banana:

SMORGAN711- that is great to hear!

Are their 6in cakes more expensive or about the same as the ones that can be ordered directly from the TS/resort bakeries?

Vanilla w/ chocolate chips sounds really yummy btw :)
