Baby wraps... UPDATE POST 27

I'm a babywearing Mom too! :)

I had a NOJO sling with both DDs but am interested in the newer carriers that are out now for the new arrival.

The Ergo looks interesting for the older kids but how does it do with the newborns??

I actually didn't get mine until Tink was 7 mos old-I got it for our Disney trip, so I can't tell you how it works with a newborn, but I do know there is a newborn insert of some type that goes with it. I've never had a reason to look into it though because Tink is our last.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my moby. Aiden had severe reflux and had to be held upright. It was a GODSEND. It is comfortable...he is almost 8 months now and weighs 18lbs. The weight is distributed and I don't even feel his weight! It is perfect for when I am out and about and I don't feel like dragging out the double stroller. I put Aiden in his Moby and hold Kurt jr by the hand. Aiden LOVES his Moby and he even squeals with delight when he sees it.

It takes a few tries to put it on by yourself, but I just practiced and now it just takes a few seconds and I am ready to go!

Good luck!!!

I had been given the Snugli for my eldest, but wish I'd had a NoJo baby sling with him. I used it with my younger son until he was three!

the great thing about the NoJo was that I could nurse him and walk with older son at the same time. Like another poster's child, Kevin would get so excited when he saw me bring it out!

I also use the Bjorn and LOVE it! My DS had severe acid reflux and always needed to be held...so I became a baby wearing mommy! We went through many different types of carriers but this was the only one he'd happily stay in. Now that he is older and very active he doesn't like to be restrained. However, when we are out he still loves the Bjorn.

Disregard my last post... after spending half the night (ok, most of the night on the boards posted here... I found a new obsession!!!), I am ordering the.....

Eden Velveteen Mei Tai

http://www.edenbabycarrier.com/Velveteen.html

Mei Tai's were recommended by sooooo many and this version looks amazing!!! I still may order the Moby as well :scratchin . I never knew there were so many choices

Oh brother... why, oh why, did you have to post those links. At least I won't be spending all my time on the DIS now ;)

That is a very cool MeiTai! I think it's a good choice for a carrier. I really wish I'd known about that one before I spent $50 on the Mei Tai that I bought (but that we never use). Ours is too stiff for our very large toddler.

Yesterday at the mall play area I met a mom who had a carrier that looked just like the Ergo, but that was made from lighter weight material. I think it was called "Eco Baby" or something similar. Anyway, she said that she also had the Ergo and that she liked this carrier much better. I've been looking at www.thebabywearer.com trying to figure out what this carrier is called, but so far I haven't had any luck. It looked almost like a cross between a Mei Tai and an Ergo. It was very cool!

It's called the Beco, and from what my friend tells me, they are hard to get. She says the lady who makes them has terrible customer service. Another friend of mine has been waiting 4 months for hers. Earlier up, I linked to the Beco via my friend's site, but after talking to my friend, wish I hadn't.

The meitai you ordered is pretty, Kim!

Thanks!!! I'm also ordering a Gypsy Mama Super Stretch Wrap and see which works out better.
