Traveling in May with our 11 month old twins and our 5 year old and 3 year old. We are staying at Fort Wilderness.
1. Will the easiest mode of transportation be driving our own car to the parks?

2. Do you have to fold strollers to get on the ferry from FW to MK?

3. Any other tips for having baby twins at a park are appreciated! The 5 and 3 year old will be easy to handle and will have a blast, but taking the babies is a new experience! Thanks!

I would not normally suggest your own car but for all parks besides MK I would definitely drive. The parking lots aren't that big at most of the parks or I imagine since you'll have someone else they can drop you and the 4 kids off and then circle back to park the car.

I don't remember if strollers are folded on the ferry form FW to MK. I don't think so but I remember the ferry being very small.

Buses will be a hassle especially with 4 little ones as you'll have to fold the strollers up every time, may not have a seat, will have to hold the babies and then manage the 5 year old and 3 year old.

I would say know where baby care center is at each park. Use rider swap to your advantage if the 5 and 3 year old are big enough and want to right the bigger rides. They'll get 2 rides if that is the case. If you are using rider swap there are usually playgrounds around the bigger rides. I'd bring a blanket to stick on the grass to let the littles ones crawl about on if they aren't yet walking. Take it easy with lots of breaks.

We are taking our 18 month old in May and staying at WL, which uses the same ferry system as FW.

From what I've read, there are 2 different kinds of ferries and you have to fold your stroller on one kind but not the other, so it depends on which kind pulls up when you're going.

The boat to the MK is usually the bigger boat that you can roll the stroller on. The smaller boats run between the contemporary, the fort, and the lodge. Kids love the boats. If you have anymore questions about the fort, go to the camping at Disney forum. Lots of good advice and friendly people over there.

1. Probably. We never take our own car, but unless you have other adults going to help you out...trying to do buses with 2 11 month olds, a 3 year old, 5 year old, and a stroller would be pretty tough for only 2 adults.

2. Many times you do have to fold the stroller to ride the ferry from FW to MK (depends on the ferry, but usually they're the smaller ones which does require you to fold up). IF you're talking about the boat from the TTC (after you drive and park), then no you won't have to fold up the stroller. Those boats are bigger.

3. Good luck! You've definitely got your hands full!

Ergo carriers .. these are great and we used them extensively for standing in lines and some rides.. basically anywhere strollers are not allowed.

Utilize ride swap, if nothing else your younger kids can use the extra fast passes..

Try to keep the twins on a normalized schedule (we failed here)
In May - plan shade time or indoor time (think carousal of progress, space ship earth) Its hot, our kids just sweated in the stroller or carriers.

But above all HAVE FUN!!!

I think I would plan on renting a double for the 3 and 5 year old in the parks if you are using WDW transportation. My kids were 22 months, 4, and 6 when my twins were born, more power to you!

Bless your heart! I've been anxious over taking our 1yr old and 3yo! We're booked at BLT, but I'm trying to convince my DH that we should stay WL ( much cheaper). But he is also worried about the boats and having to fold and unfold stroller. I've read the same thing I've seen posted here, depends on which boat pulls up... the bigger one you can roll onto, the smaller you have to fold stroller. I guess it's just luck of the draw. I can't see myself waiting for a big boat if a smaller pulls up, so I guess we would just deal with it... it can't be as bad as getting on the bus with small kids and a double stroller. It I'm with you about maybe driving to the other parks, we may just play it by ear. Good luck and have fun!!

Hmmm...we've had to every time we've gone to/from a resort to MK. I'd say we've probably done it a dozen times or so over the last 7ish years. -Although never from FW (have done WL, Poly, GF, and CR to WL), maybe they always use bigger boats for FW? -Anyone happen to know? Never had to when going to MK to TTC as it's always been the very large ferry, but always got the smaller ones to/from resorts. Well OP, maybe you'll get lucky, but I'd be prepared to have to fold it up etc., just in case.
