Has anyone ever used the baby trend sit n stand (lx) stroller in the parks? I have a 17 month old and 6 year. I know the 6 year old won't be in there often, but I think it would really help out, especially at park closing. I tried it out at the store and it seemed decent to steer, but my concern is the comfort for my 17 month old. The front seat doesn't recline very far and doesn't seem that padded. My other concern is how it folds up; it seems to be a little bulky. Has anyone used this in the parks, if so have you liked it? Please give me any pro's and con's. Thanks so much!

I have that stroller. I have never used it in the parks because I hate, hate, hate, hate that stroller. Did I mention I HATE it? It is very hard to steer; a regular tandem steers much more easily. You can't get into the basket when a child is sitting in the front seat. The child in the back cannot nap, if that will be a concern through the day. There is more, but that is all I can think of right now.

Wow. Different strokes I guess, because I LOVE ours. The steering is magnificent, folds and pushes very easily. It is a bit bulky but we have had no issue on the busses. The basket is small, and no you cant get to it from the back, but the side unsnaps and we hae no problem accessing it that way. This is by far my favorite stroller that we have tried, and with 4 kids we have tried a lot LOL. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the info. I tried it in the store, and thought the steering was actually smoother than my single stroller, but that was just in the store (and I think my single strollers' front wheels tend to somewhat lock easily.) I'm glad to hear that weren't any issues with the size and the buses. I guess my main concern is my 17 month olds comfort, but we're planning on heading back to our resort each day for naps, so I'm thinking it might still be okay. Thanks for all your info. guys!

I get to the basket from the side, it unsnaps. I also got the clips for the handles and often hang the diaper bag there. It is infront of DD, but she doesn't mind. Before I got the clips, she used to offer to stand so I could put the bag on her seat. The front seat is not the best ever for napping, my DS is very tall for his age (also 17 mo) and seems like the seat is not long enough for his legs. It is much easier to steer than my SIL regular double. Of course even better when DD is walking and not in it! lol To close, I read this tip on the reviews of the stroller, push it forward and then back so the wheels rotate and align. Make sure the shade is all the way back to the handles. Then close it and latch. Ifind when I don't do that it does not close well. It is not great in stores, but what double stroller is? Have fun!

I used to work in a baby store and over time we learned that when you assemble a stroller that has repeated steering issues, put vaseline in the wheel assembly before you click it together. Sounds silly but it really worked. You dont need a ton of vaseline either, just enough to coat the inside. Hope that helps.:goodvibes

I have been thinking of getting one of these and does anyone know how they are when you are using an infant seat in the front? TIA

We just got that in our store, but I was thinking that the weight limit for the back end was 40 lbs. Maybe we have a different model?:confused3 Just thought I'd mention it.

Glad someone posted about this cuz I was going to buy one for our trip...I have a 5YO and a 2YO...we used my cousin's BT sit n stand at our childrens museum and fit my 2YO in the front, and my 5YO and my cousin's 3YO BOTH sat on the seat in the back and it was STILL easy to push. (I'm SURE we were over the weight limit, but we didn't break it! :) )

But my question is, for those of you who have used a sit n stand and also used a double rental from WDW, which is easier to navigate through the parks? I just feel like having the double wide would make things more difficult...and I've read that the WDW strollers are not very comfy for all day sitting...like the way they hve to have their legs straight out in front of them...anyone have an opinion on which is a better bet?

There is a metal attachment that you put on and adjust for the car seat./ The manual lists tons of carseat and where to move the bars to fit it on correctly. I think there is also a strap to put over it. It makes it alittle bit longer overall.

I am not sure what the weight limit is, but we also had DD and her cousin standing inthe back with DS inthe front. DD is 44 lbs and my niece probably around 35. It didn't break or anything, but I wouldn't make it a habit! DH had to push it then! :rotfl:

I test-drove both the Baby Trend Sit-N-Stand and the Joovy Caboose, which is the same type of stroller. I liked the Joovy a lot more than the BT. The weight limit on both seats is 45 lbs (but my oldest was 52 lbs when he rode on the jump seat last year and it was fine). I thought the Joovy steered better and pushed more easily than the BT. The sunshade was larger and higher up on the Joovy -- there was enough clearance that my very tall 5-yr-old could sit on the back seat and the sunshade would cover his head and the toddler's head. I also liked that the handles for my oldest to hold when facing forward were foam covered instead of bare metal, which I thought would get hot.

We did take the Joovy to WDW last year and it was definitely worth it. The downsides were that the toddler didn't recline very far in the front seat and didn't nap well there, the front snack tray does not come off easily, and that it was bulky to fold up for the bus. It wasn't un-manageable, though. It folds pretty quickly and easily. We were able to keep stuff in the basket while it was folded.

We are not planning to take it back to WDW this year, though. Our oldest is now 6, and well over that 45-lb limit (about 57 lbs and 50" tall) and we're going to make him walk. Our toddler naps better in our single Combi stroller, which is much lighter!

I'd like to get rid of the Joovy. PM me if you're interested!

I wouldn't get it. It is actually a hard steer once you load it up. the baby cant recline while your 6 yr old is on it, which is bad since the later it gets the more the baby will want to sleep and the 6 yr old want to ride. I'd bring your regular tried and true stroller for the baby. Both my boys only needed a stroller at age 6 once in a while on particularly long days, and that's when we would rent one.

I had one - and we did use it in the Parks over Labor Day Weekend. It sat both the kids, and worked for that purpose.

What I didn't like was the collapsing/getting on the tram business. That part totally blew. It would have been a nightmare on the bus, and I had little ones who I really wanted to have in car seats, so we drove and used free parking. Still, getting a 18 MO and 3 YO on a tram with the ginormous stroller and all the baby regalia...well...lets just say we opted for a smaller stroller this time. I just purchased a McClaren Volo (their low-end umbrella). My kids will be almost 3 and well over 4 for the next trip, and they like to take turns in the stroller.

Looking back, I needed that stroller for the stage that they were in - but it was a PIA. KWIM?

We got the Joovy stroller mostly for our upcoming Disney trip. My 14 month old and almost 4 year old love it - and I love it. We've gone many places with it including a trian ride into the city - of course the train was crowded, but with commuters going to work - not other families with strollers, but we had no trouble folding it up and sticking it under the seats. Not sure how the buses will work but I'm glad to hear that people with the BT Sitnstand didn't have too much trouble.
We did get the "ultralight" version of the Joovy which I think makes a lot of difference.

We love our sit and stand. It is worth every bit of the $119 we paid for it @ Walmart.com
This was taken last Sept. @AK three days before DD#1 turned 5 DD#2 was 7 weeks old.

We used our Baby Trend for 9 days @WDW and will use it again this Aug. But we don't do busses as we drive down and waiting for a bus with two cranky tired kids is my personal version of hell. We love this stroller and use it whenever we are going to be somewhere with large crowds or long walks and both kids. While it is large it is pretty easy to maneuver. We kept a soft side cooler filled with bottled water in the basket and accessed it from the side and hung the diaper bag from the handle. The snack tray is very easy to get on and off.

Questions about what kind of stroller, shoes, bag, etc.. are best posed on the Disney World Tips board here on the DIS. As such, I'll be moving this one there.

Thanks!
