Baby Thor isn't coing today

Well the induction failed, and so I feel like such a failure myself. I know there wasn't much I could do because my body just isn't ready but I really felt that after going into 2 pre-term labors that my body was ready for this and all I had to get was get started and it would take off from there.
I was wrong.
The cervadil didn't do much and they didn't expect it to, so they started the pitocen at 7am this morning. My contrx got to every 2 minutes but my body never did kick in to real labor. So they sent me home. It was so hard walking past the baby warmer they had set next to my door and know that we wouldn't need it!
I know I'm being silly and hormomal because I WILL get my baby, I just have to wait a little.
Thor was such a champ through all this, his heart beat was strong and he kicked almost the whole time, every nurse remarked how strong he is. I guess he's jsut not ready for the real world and I guess I can't blame him.
One funny note- DH was watching me waddle into the hosp. last night and noticed I was wearing one brown shoe and one black shoe! I told him he needed to dress me better.
Thanks for all your good thoughts and well wishes, I guess they will carry over until he's ready!

Oh I know you're disappointed, but try not to be too much. Baby Thor probably needs an extra few days just to be sure he is okay!!! My 5th one was induced and it didn't take and the doctor broke my water to get it going. After she was born, it was determined that she was probably 1/12 weeks to 2 weeks early. So let try to have faith that Baby Thor will come when he is ready!

{{{hugs}}} Sonya. I know a good friend of mine had to be induced twice (due to baby size) and the first time didn't take. The second time did so don't you worry, he'll come when he's ready

{{Hugs}} My 1st one was induced and I was hooked up to pitocin for about 10 hours and nothing. Next day, they cranked it up again and after about 6 hours..nothing. So doctor broke my water and then things got going! You are not a failure! One thing for certain is no pregnancy lasts indefinitely. Soon you or dh will be posting about this beautiful baby boy and how sleepy you are from 2 am feedings! Hang in there!

It will happen and then you will wonder what all the hurry was about, I know youre thinking " yep that Binny has finally lost it! Shes off her rocker for sure now!" but truly... Ive been there 3 times and it was not fun but it *does* happen and when Thor is ready to come out and meet all of his Dis Aunties nnd Uncles ( oh yeah and you too of course ) he will make it known

Sonya, baby Thor will be here when he's ready. I'm so glad they are letting you come home and wait a little longer.

My induction didn't work either, and they kept me and tried again the next morning and then the next. I was starving by this time since I was on a liquid diet and I wanted pizza. lol They kept me because my blood pressure went sky high.

You must be one comfortable bed and breakfast! Sorry it is taking so long. I remember the days before delivery as the longest days of my life, and the most uncomfortable.

Things happen for reasons. The time will be right very soon and he will come to you kicking and screaming. Just the way he should. Childbirth is the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed and gone through. There is nothing more special.

The baby will be here before you know it. For whatever reason, he's just not ready to give up his comfy little home. No one is pregnant forever -- it just seems that way. Sending good wishes your way!

I am going to tell you a few things that my OB/GYN told me. It was almost 6 years ago, and through my drug induced haze I remember exactly what he told me:

"My goal is to get you a healthy baby, and to keep you safe and healthy as well. There is NO such thing as a perfect childbirth, and if anyone tries to tell you there is, they are either CRAZY, LYING TO YOU, or trying to make you feel badly. Do NOT let anyone belittle what you went through, or how you ultimately ended up giving birth." (ed note, AFTER and only after you give birth, I will share my story with you, if you are so inclined).

So, the moral of my rambling is that if Thor was not ready to join us here on the outside, that is just fine. And, look at it this way, you and DH have had a dry run in getting to the hospital, and finding your way to everything, right?

Hang in there, Thor will be here sooner than you think

My FIL always used to say "Time come, baby come." After I FINALLY had baby #1, after several false alarms, I received a card "Time came, baby came." Best wishes!!

Your baby and your body aren't ready to give birth. You are not a failure. Don't think that. Your baby wants to stay where he is just a bit longer. I know that it is sad that it didn't happen tonight but before you know it your baby will be here.

I will continue to say prayers for you and your son.

Side note to your husband, make sure he has matching shoes for you near the door. You don't want to be known as the lady with the odd shoes.

Baby Thor just wanted to give you a couple more nights of sleep before he arrives. Hang in there. It'll all be over soon. It's not your fault that today didn't work, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Thor just wasn't ready. Keep us informed.
