Sometimes there isn't a CM at the front of the ride... in that case you would HAVE to wait in line with the family until you got up to the ride....

Since I have never been with a baby before I really don't know what to expect.

Maybe there is a way to 'cheat' the system!

There is a CM at the head of every ride that offers baby swap to measure children that look close to the height requirement. Unfortunately, if your using rider swap you have a child who can't ride and therefore you just can't wait together in line. They won't allow a child who is too small to ride the ride even enter the queue on the off chance that he/she could end up on the ride and risk being hurt.

I understand that you want to experience things together as a family, mee too ) But when you think about it there only a handful of rides at WDW with a height restriction that you would need to use riderswap on anyway compared to the number of rides and shows that you can do all together.

After having used rider swap (babyswap) for several years now I have come to prefer it this way. There is always something fun to do with the littler one nearby so he/she dosen't have to wait an hour in line only to stand at the exit and not ride (twice!).

Take turns riding first with the older ones so each parent gets a fair share of firsts and take advantage of the chance for 1/1 time with each child. Some of my fondest memories are whlle waiting with my younger dd, from just enjoying an icecream, meeting a character my older dd isn't interested in or just re-riding small world together.
