I'm amazed by some of the stuff I read. Horrified and amazed that the woman took her child with her. Amazed and glad that the child survived.

My maternal grandmother was committed suicide when my mother was just over a year old (about 15 months), and she tried to take my mother with her. Grandmother drank drain cleaner and then tried to shoot my mom before she died. Mom has a scar on her chin on the left side where the bullet grazed her. Mom is 89 years old and to this day cannot stand loud noises, thunder, or fireworks.

Thru records found in my Uncle's house after he recently passed we were able to piece together that my grandmother had given birth to 7 kids, only four of whom survived. We figure she was suffering post-partum depression when she killed herself.

It is indeed fortunate that that baby survived, and, hopefully, will not remember any of what happened.

Glad the baby survived. But I cannot understand why people who commit suicide have to take innocents with them when they go. Just go off and do it by yourself if you're gonna do it. Don't involve others.
