Baby strollers in restaurants?

Hello! Hoping someone on here will have the answer to this. My sister and I are going to Disney in October with our daughters, who will be ages 5 and 7 months at the time we travel. Does anyone know if we will be permitted to bring strollers into the restaurants. Since the girls will be too small for highchairs, we weren't sure what else we could do. Thanks!

Some restaurants had infant highchairs, which worked out great. We used these at Chef Mickey, & WCC. I was able to bring my umbrella stroller into LeCellier and Kona because DS (then 5 months) was sleeping. RFC in DTD would not allow strollers and only had the regular highchairs.

Hope this is helpful.

Most of the restaurants will not allow highchairs because of the space they take up, espcially strollers other than umbrella strollers. A few restaurants, like WCC, have infant highchairs (has a reclined seat much like a carrier) but you have to ask for them.

I've never had a problem at any WDW restaurant bringing a stroller in if one of our children is sleeping. They may ask you not to bring it in if they are awake.

Most restaurants don't allow strollers. If you don't have a baby sling, get one. It will make your life a lot easier, not just at restaurants, but at many areas of the parks that don't allow strollers. Don't count on every restaurant having infant highchairs. Even the places that have them have a very limited supply.

hildarumpole doesn't mean the parks don't allow strollers (at least I don't think she does :)); she means that most of the attractions require you to leave the strollers outside and walk or carry your child - and some of those are lonnnnnnnnng walks!

Here's what we found:

They either allow strollers, or have parking for strollers and will provide a high chair/infant seat holder (either the "sling" or a converted high chair). We've never found a place that didn't do one of the above two....they might exist, but we haven't found one yet.

Thanks for clarifying, kaytieedlr. :goodvibes I was thinking of the attractions, shows, and various buildings (The Land at EPCOT comes to mind), in the parks. Hope I didn't create any confusion for anyone.

If you've got one of those strollers with the detachable carseats, you can take the carseat out, with sleeping baby in it, and attach the carseat to a highchair or put it into a restaurant-provided sling. For babies as young as that, this really is the easiest thing. You can just leave the main stroller out in front of the restaurant. I've never seen a restaurant at WDW unable to provide us with a highchair or sling.

I've seen people bring strollers into restaurants, especially counter service ones. While it's ok in many CS restaurants, there really are a bit bulky for a table service restaurant.

We've experienced the same. For kids the OP's age, if the restaurant doesn't have the infant chair, they'll allow you to bring your babies in in a stroller. We've taken our strollers in restaurants that vary from Pecos Bills and Donald's Breakfastosaurus to Narcoossee's and Jiko. Disney is very accommodating and has always found us a table where the stroller did not get in the way of the servers.

it really depends on the restaurant and their space- and the size of your stroller. If it is a small umbrella stroller that can just fit into a chair spot at the table, we didn't have any problem in most places. Other places have those sling things that work very well too. There were a few we hit that WOULD NOT allow it even when our kids were asleep and we had to make alternate dining accomodations- the Plaza in the MK comes to mind.

We just returned last weekend and our stroller was allowed in all restraurants. We had the stroller/infant chair unit. The baby was 12 weeks old. We took it in, Concourse, LeCellier, Kona Cafe, Coral Reef, Trail's End, Whispering Canyon. We took only the carseat into the 50s Prime Time because they offered us a booth seat and the same for the Plaza. No one offered us a reclining type highchair. When we checked into the podium we were always told to bring the stroller since baby girl was very little, always sleeping and we could pull the canopy up on both sides to block the noises and light. We thought we might be hassled and never were. If she was old enough (or could) sit in a highchair, I'm sure they would not have been as accommodating. We would just ask what the options where for an infant and told, bring the stroller. (BTW: we have brought the stroller into the Plaza in the past, but since they gave us the bench seat, we were OK with just the carseat. Had we gotten just a table, the stroller would have gone in too.)
