Baby stocking stuffers

Does anyone have any ideas on stocking stuffers for a baby? Socks is all I can come up with. He has never used a pacifier so pacifiers and accessories are out. He will be 3.5 months old. I have other gifts already but the stocking is stumping me. I also am having difficulty finding the perfect stocking for him to have at Grandma's house.

Yes, I know he won't know what's in there since he's so young.

BTW, being a grandparent is the greatest thing EVER! He is the best baby ever too! He only cries when he's hungry. So chill! Love him! <3

Bibs, baby spoons for later before you know it they will need them. Small baby toys like rattles , they have racks of these things. Teething rings.

Bath toys.

Teething rings, bath toys, soft picture books, anything that lights up and makes noise. lol

For stockings I recommend Land's End needlepoint ones. You can get it embroidered with your grandbaby's name and they last forever.

For fillers, teething rings and board books. Any small toys would be good.

Baby gear is small enough that I think just about anything could be considered a stocking stuffer as long as it fit inside the stocking. At that age mine was hardcore teething and needed teethers that were small enough, or shaped in such a way, that he could actually get them into his little mouth because most teethers were too big. Like these:

https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Banana-Training-Toothbrush-Teether/dp/B002QYW8LW?th=1

Also, just throwing this out there as a consideration, I've been on the internet long enough to know some parents consider the Christmas stocking to be their domain, and wouldn't appreciate other people having stockings for their kids. They lump stockings in with Easter baskets and Halloween costumes, things the parents should have the privilege of doing for the child. You know the parents best, though.

ETA: better wording

When our kids were babies I filled their stockings with bath toys like rubber duckies, cute baby food spoons, socks, and maybe a board book. It honestly didn't have to be very much.

Great ideas! Thanks everyone.

DD is not one to be uptight about a stocking. He will probably have 5 stockings when its all said and done (at home, our house, other grandparents' house, DBF's family house, and great grand parents' house.)

  • board books, bath books, Lamaze books, Taggies, or Indestructibles series of books for babies
  • DK My First Touch and Feel cards (I LOVE these!)
  • any toy with multiple pieces that you can open up and dump into the stocking like ALEX® Toys Early Learning String A Farm or Learning Resources Smart Snacks Trail Mix and Match
  • bath toys...stacking cups or squirting fish
  • slippers or slipper socks
  • decorative sippy cup/snack cup
  • toddler cutlery or baby spoons
  • divided plate with engaging design
  • Oball
  • decorative t-shirt or diaper shirt
  • Boogie Wipes
  • packages of baby snacks like Disney fruit crisps or Happy Puffs
  • cute, spill-proof bibs
  • squeeze fruits (puréed fruit in little pouches)
  • egg shakers
  • playsilk...EVERY kid should have one of these. They are great for playing peek-a-boo, for wrapping up baby dolls, for flapping, a fancy skirt or scarf for dress-up, or a green one for grass for farm animals...this item is only limited by their imagination
  • hand or finger puppets...just make sure they are baby safe or only manipulated by adults
  • individual baby toys or rattles
  • a baby photo book that you stick your own photos of family into. They are made of plastic and are padded, so if they suck or chew on them, the photos aren't damaged.

My son was 4 months old on his first Christmas and I think I got him stuff for "later," but that we'd also need prior to his 1st birthday. A package of spoons, some dollar store bath books, a beginner's sippy cup, a small stuffed toy, and a Santa Claus PEZ (that one, only because his daddy collects PEZ and we want to give him a few special ones of his own :) ).

Pottery Barn Kids has adorable stockings!
Congratulation on your new grandson - I remember when your daughter was about 7-8 years old - how time flies!

The cloth baby books are a big hit with babies! Amazon has a nice selection.
Gift certificate for Mommy and Me swimming lessons? (They usually begin when they are 6 months old.)
Boogie Wipes are great to wipe little noses.
Coupon for a Grandma and Me day (Mommy would love this.)
Little wooden cars
Winter hat
My 1st New Year's shirt - Etsy has some adorable ones

I don't think I've seen them mentioned but both my babies loved the plastic links that can be used to attach toys to a stroller. They played with those more than they ever did the toys.

Absolutely agree! My second was born a few weeks ago, and he's making the holidays extra special!

P.S. When I first heard about Boogie Wipes they sounded kinda silly to me. Turns out they're wonderful!

Our little granddaughter will be about 5 months. We got the Lands End stocking and searched on "toys for babies" at toyrus.com and got all sorts of little goodies that will fit in the stocking.

I know! It's crazy! I came here to plan a trip for her 6th birthday! I can't wait for J's first trip. December 2022, Disney Here we come! (my 50th :O )

A tiny card saying to spend two hours with grandma while mommy and daddy go out to dinner. Attach it to a gift card for dinner.

I just looked at my list for my great-nephew who will be 6 months for Christmas - small packets of tissues in cute packages, snack containers, a magic facecloth, monkey shaped flashlight that makes monkey sounds, bibs, the Golden Book First Christmas, baby lotions (I picked these up when I have coupons), a Batman hat to match the one that will be in Daddy's stocking. I will probably knit some booties and mittens.

It is so much fun to shop for little ones!

Some sort of financial instrument to send him to college. Maybe a sterling silver spoon?
He'll appreciate it even more so when he is past the "Wow, eating the edge of this box is fun!" stage.
Understand, that the only items I bought my granddaughter before the age of 2 were what I consider "heirloom" items.

I loved my babysafe feeder. It was a miracle worker when they were teething - I'd put frozen chunks of fruit or even ice in it.

You will have so much fun!
I have 3 grandkids - we are hoping to take them to WDW in a year.
