I went to a baby class today on this and wondered if anyone has done it with there Children and how they found it :)

My nephew is almost three and he uses baby sign language because he has hearing aids and hasn't learned to speak yet.

He's getting much better about using his signs and asking for help with things.

I have a friend that taught her son to use a few signs that they called lifesavers for that period before he started talking. He'll be two in May and doesn't use them as much anymore. I know for sure he used "milk" and "more".

Signing Times I think is the name of the video series that the area aid uses with my nephew. I watched a couple of them and they are good.

Ive heard a lot about this Kaylee, it sounds really interesting, did you enjoy it?? :)

No I haven't but it sounds like fun.

My best friend has taught her son a few signs the best one being 'Monkey' - useful in their house as she collects monkey things. He looks so please with himself when you recognise what he is 'saying'

I did intend to do this with Molly but not got round to it but now you've reminded me I might look into something called 'sing and sign' which seems to be on round here.

**and I have e-mailed the woman who runs it to find out more and possibly try it out - will let you know how we go :)

I did enjoy it - it was just a taster session but I have learnt Milk, Mummy (very important) and Daddy :teeth:

My friend does it with her 10 month all daughter - seems very rewarding :)

Sounds interesting Kaylee. Surprised you haven't learnt Mickey yet :teeth:

Kaylee - sounds great. I have learn't a few signs that I have been trying to teach Matthew. Do keep us posted as to how you get on! :teeth:

It does sound interesting and fascinating :)

I would have thought

Mickey
Minnie
Disney
Orlando
Disneyworld

All would have been more important. ;)

Can remember watching a programme on TV some time ago and all the mums interviewed said that it was very rewarding and worth doing. :)

Thanks so much for reminding me of this Kaylee. I was looking for something that Declan could do that would fit in with Molly's hectic life (yep I'm a taxi driver already!) and this fits the bill

We start next term and Molly is allowed come along and help (which is great as she has a much better memory for these things than I do ;) )

I have heard lots about this and it sounds really interesting, will have to look out for it. :)
