Baby Shower ideas needed

I guess I'm old school , I always thought baby showers were for your first baby because of it being so special and new to the parents, that being said my sister just had her third one didn't feel very special to me ( even if she had remarried) she had her third shower with new husband.:confused3

I think this is tacky........I have tons of friends who have multiple children. We have been known to meet at Panera and her closest friends bring a small gift. I am having a hard time wrapping my arms around an official shower but...maybe it is just me.

not just you- it is very tacky.

Not sure of the circumstances, but maybe the reason for the shower is that the Mom doesn't think she can afford anything for the new baby? If she's trying to make it as cheap as possible & having it in her mobile home, it sounds like they're hurting financially. :rolleyes1 I'm not saying it's "not tacky" for her to throw her own shower, I'm just suggesting that maybe she's in over her head. :confused3

As far as games....I threw my sis a "safari" shower for her little boy. I printed a list of 30 animals, then a blank beside each one. Participants had to write down the "baby name" of the animal. (Elephant=calf, Tiger=cub, etc...) I bought a monkey piggy bank (b/c his room is done in monkey). On the invitations, I asked each person to bring the exact amount of coins to equal their age in years. Each person dropped their coins in the bank as they arrived. Later on, everyone was able to guess what the total amount was & won a prize. (Asking guests to bring $$ may not go over so well at this shower!!!)

For another friend's shower (twin girls) we listed their names "Lily Grace, Lila Faye" down the page & had people write in as many baby items they could think of that started w/ those letters. Anyway, I hope everything works out for you & your friend.

I agree I think it is tacky to have a shower after the first, no matter how far apart. You aren't a new Mother that has no idea what you need. don't like them at all.

I'm also bothered by the fact that you are in on planning this yet don't want to bring a gift and are going to invite other people and expect gifts from them :confused3

going to hi-jack it one more time.

Just wanted to say March 22nd is a good day to have a baby. That is my youngest DS birthday!!

awwwwwwwwww!!! :cutie: I have a couple friends born on that day as well, so they are VERY pleased!!
