We are having a baby shower this weekend for my sister. We are looking for some weird, outrageous, wacky games. We have looked on different sites online and are getting the same games. We have a group of people coming that are a fun bunch, and will do anything. Any suggestions??

I have never done this game, but a friend of mine is planning to play it at her sister's shower. The players have to guess the gestation periods of different animals. She found all the info on the net. She said some of the answers are pretty wild--like an elephant I think she said is 600 days!
Just an idea!

we did a diaper hanging contest. cloth diapers (new) with clothespins, on a clothesline. you see who can hang them all up the fastest, while holding a 5 pound sack of potatoes. (the fastest one at our party was a guy who carried the potatoes tucked under his arm like a football)

My co-workers played the GROSSEST game at my baby shower. They took different kinds of chocolate bars (Hershey's, snickers, Nestle crunch) and melted them and put them in disposable diapers. Then they passed around the diapers with melted chocolate to everyone and they had to guess what kind of candy bar they were and the winner got a prize. I have all these really gross pictures of co-workers and friends who look like they are smelling dirty diapers. It was funny, but gross.
I also went to a shower where they took the labels off of baby food jars and passed them around and you could smell (or even taste) the baby food and try to guess what they are. It was fun, too, but I'm not sure how hygenic it is with everyone (at least the brave ones) tasting the same jar of baby food.
Have fun!

We've done the baby food jar game and that's alot of fun. We also did one where you buy blue and pink yarn. Everyone takes a turn and cuts the yarn to as big as they think the mommy to be is. It's hysterical when some people make it go two times around. The other one is Baby Shower bingo. Just like regular bingo but you have cute baby things as the pictures.

Have fun!!

We have done the baby food guessing game. But at my sister in laws baby shower they played this game where you buy a bunch of onesies and decorative paint & permenant markers and everyone decorates a t-shirt.

Then the mommy chooses the best one and the person who created it gets the prize & mommy gets the t-shirts for baby(kind of expensive to do though) so heres a cheapie thing to do.

We also played "How big is Momma?" Everyone takes their turn cutting string or pink & blue ribbon as big as they think so it will fit around the mommy's belly. Then she actually measures her own cuts the ribbon and goes around matching to see who has the closest. It also make for a memoire of how big she was at that time.

Hope that helps,
Lisa

I was at a shower where they played bingo. Everyone filled in a card with the gifts they thought the mom to be would get, and as she opened her presents, you marked your cards. It was fun.

How about the Chewing gum baby. We did this at my baby shower. You give each person a bubble gum and waxed paper. You tell them to chew the gum and shape it into a baby. The mom-to-be picks her top three and they all win prizes. You get to see how creative people get, and those funny ones where you wonder what the heck they were thinking of.

Here's one that was played at my shower and at SIL's shower:

At the beginning of the game, everyone gets a pin (could use diaper pins, or just safety pins, or you could decorate the pins with beads or something). Eveyone puts their pin on their shirt. The point of the game is you're not allowed to say the word "baby." (Very tough to do at a baby shower!) If you say the word "baby" and someone catches you, they get to take your pin(s). The winner is the person who ends up with the most pins!

We've done the baby food game too but we didn't open the jars.

There's always the clothespin games. Give each person a set number of clothes pins and see who can drop the most in a bottle. Or each person stands up, reaches between her legs and pins the clothespin as high up on her back as she can reach. It's really funny to watch.

Something fun and different for the mommy to be... Make a scrap book using baby pictures from magazines. Leave room on each page for the mommy to fill in later with pictures from her shower and a place to make a note of each gift and who it was from. On each page of the book give her a clue as to where her gift is hidden. Simple things like, rub a dub dub, look in the tub or don't despair, look under your chair, don't be a slouch, your next gift is under the couch. As mom is finding her gifts the host can fill in the scrap book or make a list for mom to fill in the book later. I hope I described this well enough for you to get the idea.

For my sister's baby shower we did the game with the yarn and guessing how big the mommy's belly is and bingo. We also had the guests think of as many songs as they could with the word baby in the title. We had each table work together as a group and the table with the most songs won.

At my SIL's baby shower, we all passed around small brown paper bags stapled shut with different baby items in them - pacifier, sippy cup, thermometer, onsie, etc... and had to guess what was in them by feeling the outside of the bag. The person who got the most right won a prize and my SIL got to keep all the baby items. We also played a game with little plastic babies frozen into ice cubes and whoever got theirs out first won a prize.

We did this game last year and it was so much fun for the two of us planning it. We took a tray and covered it with baby items. (Bib, bottle, pacifier, diaper etc.) We had the mom to be walk around the room with the tray and we told all of the guests to look at the mommy as she walks around. We then had the mommy to be wait in another room and asked questions about her...not the tray of stuff. The questions were....

How many rings is she wearing?
Is she wearing anything in her hair?
Does she have her fingernails painted? What color?
What color is her outfit?
What kind of shoes? etc., etc.

Everyone was so worried about the items on the tray they forgot to "look" at the mommy....too funny and everyone could not believe we tricked them.

Have Fun!

I have played the guess the chocolate in the diaper game. It was actually a big hit! Be careful though, you can't put diapers in the microwave because they will catch on fire. God, I felt stupid. :p

Whatever you do, don't play "let's guess the mom's waist measurement". My sister had this done to her at a shower her so called friend gave her. She was just mortified :(

I put kelly bellies in a baby bottle (I counted them first) & everyone had to gues how many were in the bottle.

I went to one where a very "flighty" lady burst into the house, tripped & dumped her purse out and then stuffed everything back into her purse. She left quickly and we each had to remember the things that had fallen out of her purse. kinda wierd, but fun.
