Baby Shower Favors ??

For my baby shower we did little votive cabdles, bought light pink, yellow, and green toole and cut in smaller squares. Wrapped each candle in toole and tied with pink, green or yellow ribbon. We typed out a little saying and used a whole punch and tied it with the ribbon around the candle. These were cute, inexpensive and useful. Probably put 10-15 into this since we looked for a good deal on nice candles ahead of time.

Here's a candle for you to light
once the stork has made its flight.
With a flicker of the flame,
please say a prayer in baby's name

I am throwing a baby shower for my best friend at the end of this month. I am going to do a Dessert Bar with cookies, cupcakes, and chocolate candies. I bought white paper bags and a Thank You stamp at Hobby Lobby. The bags with the Thank You on them will be on the table so the guests can take some of the goodies home with them. This will be the favor for the shower.

We made onesie shaped cookies and put each one in a cute bag tied with a ribbon and a thank you tag printed on it. The cookies were maybe 4" tall....so not a small cookie. We just did basic sugar cookies with a pretty pink royal icing since it was for a girl.

We've also done candy buffet type things where the guest fill up a bag as they leave, both I think were hits

I have thrown several wedding and baby showers...

I usually have a quasi-theme...

At a wedding shower (women only), I decorated with fruits as the bride's colors were all citrus. So everyone got a bath and body (fruit scented) bar of soap.

At a baby shower for a boy (men and women- and the dad to be loved baseball) we had a baseball theme. Foods were all park-type foods (mini pigs in blanket, nachoes, soft pretzels, nuggets, etc) As people left, they were give a box of cracker jacks and a bag of shelled peanuts.

At a small baby shower for twin girls, I wrapped "Double Mint" gum in cello with a bow.

The best favor that I have received was a Heath bar for a wedding where the couple had the last name HEATH- I liked it because 1) Clever 2) Disposable- I ate it and had nothing to find a place for in the house....

These might seem a little cheesy but I had very little money at the time. I purchased pieces of blue and pink satan. Cut them into (I think 4") squares. I purchased floral picks and floral tape along with scented potpourri. I fold over the pieces in half to make a "tube" and hot glued the one side. I floral taped the one end to the floral pick, put the potpourri inside the tube and folded the top over on itself. It looks like a rose. I then took oasis put it in a basket put the picks in the oasis and made it a center piece. Now I came up with this idea all by myself, did it for my girlfriends wedding with birdseed, but I'm sure someone did it long before me )

I am helping with a shower for next month and we are doing Glass picture frame and we printed this poem on photo paper with a really cute border. Our thought was that once the baby arrives they can use the frame to put the new babies pic in it.

I'm really glad that you could come

And help surprise my mother

sit down, relax, enjoy yourselves

and chat with one another

Sorry I can't be with you

to join in Mommy's shower

But I'm very busy you see

I'm growing more each hour

Though I'm not there to thank you

for the lovely gifts you've brought

THANKS for all the GREAT replies!! I like the idea of something edible,cookies and chocolates are my favorites. But some of you are SO CREATIVE with your ideas!! I was just thinking of purchasing something. Although I LOVE baking cookies, so that is a possibility. Joan
