I'm looking for gifts to give our ring bearer and flower girl on the day of our wedding. Because they are so young (18 months and 2 1/2 years, respectively, at the time of the wedding), I'm looking for gifts that they can safely have.

We were thinking a teddy bear for the ringbearer to carry and play with during the ceremony rather than a pillow... but I am having trouble finding one. So many are for 3 years + because they have button eyes or other choking hazzards.

I'd really like to find a teddy that is brown fur, very classy/classic looking, etc.

Any ideas??

P.S. ... yes we know that they probably won't walk down the aisle ... and we're okay with that!! :)

My son was Bear Bringer at my SIL's wedding when he was just about 2 - he did great. They got a made a bear at Build-A-Bear for him. They have baby-safe bears with embroidered eyes.

Another idea is just to browse at Baby's R Us. They should have a selection that have passed all the child-safety codes.

Congrats on the wedding! :)

What a great idea! You never know how kids are going to act but I bet if you hold back the teddy's until the actual ceremony they'll be good as gold.

I have to tell you about the wedding my son was in a couple years ago. His special ed teacher was getting married and wanted her students to attend her. All of her students are profoundly mentally handicapped and all of them were in big, bulky wheelchairs except Christian. His friend Lauren came down the aisle in her pretty lavendar dress with roses woven into her hair, throwing flowers like baseballs into the crowd. Christian started down the aisle but caught a glimpse of the bridesmaid behind him and made a beeline for her, singing "Happy Birthday" at the top of his voice. :rotfl: The whole thing was so light-hearted and it was one of the best weddings I've ever been to.

Thank you for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming! Also we may get the flower girl a bear too so there are no fights, but if anyone has another idea I'm all ears!

I saw this one on Etsy. He's pretty classic looking, and his eyes and nose are stitched.

How pretty! I forgot all about Etsy. I think this one may be outside our price range, but I was looking and saw a few others that might work. Thanks!

Thank you for the congratulations. :)

I will definitely check out build-a-bear. I didn't realize that they had baby safe bears there. I did some looking at Baby's R Us online and didn't see any that fit the bill (most were in pastel colors or plaid rather than a traditional bear), but will definitely try the store.

How wonderful! I believe that your wedding should include those people who are truly special to you. Sounds like your son's teacher did just that!

We plan to have the ring bearer walk in with his daddy (the best man) and are hoping that the flower girl will either run down the aisle to her daddy (groomsman) or walk with her aunt. We're definitely planning to have thier mommies sitting in the first row with lots of toys!! Luckily we're doing the ceremony outside (weather permitting) so running around won't be a problem.

:goodvibes

Hopefully in amongst that they will do something totally cute and adorable and make us all laugh.
