Yep, I did it, from the advice of my mother. And then I would climb up on the shed roof that had black shingles, lay down my silver blanket and roast in the sun.
I get so tan but dont lay in the sun.. Me and my friends hide from it.. Because if some of my friends got any darker they'd be as dark as mickeys ears..They say....
I used olive oil. It helped cook you nice and brown plus left your skin super soft. And now, it left my skin with lots of freckles and sun spots and too many wrinkles.
Any body remember Sun In? It didn't work well on darker hair, I had a friend who tried it and her hair ended up with an orange tint to it.
I used straight baby oil! I would think the iodine would just stain your skin so maybe you looked tanner than you were.
Also did the Sun In stuff too...luckily my hair was lighter brown so it did lighten it up some, of course it was only the top layer so if you parted your hair wrong the next day it could look really weird!
We just did the Baby oil but I loved it when Hawaiian Tropic came out. We thought that was the PERFECT tanning oil!! I'm sure that's why I'm a bit more wrinkled these days!!!
