Baby Names!!

James, Matthew, David, Malcolm, Lee (Malcolm was my dad's name, James was my favourite uncle) I'd only want Malcolm and Lee as middle names. Only problem is that the man in my life's surname is Brown so should a male sproglet ever appear we could end up with James Brown. Of course he refuses to allow that name for his kid for fear of Sex Machine jokes!

I've always struggled with girls names but I like Caitlyn. My middle name is Elizabeth so I'd want that as my daughter's middle name too (this is also the case with Lee - that's Scott's middle name.)

I must be SO boring...we have two boys and picked their names without a problem!!

Tom (age 13)

Sam (age 7)

I did not want to get names that can be shortened and I wanted them to spell their names easy....problem is Sam gets Sammy all the time and Tom gets Tomo....so it never did work!!

If I'd had a boy, I always wanted a Joel, but DH was not at all keen - maybe it's lucky we had two girls!

Eldest DD is Rhian - we'd never heard it before our neighbours had their DD, but when she started school there were lots of Rhians! It's always a source of puzzlement in the US as no-one seems to be able to get to grips with the silent 'h'. She's okay here in Wales, but elsewhere people often think it's either Ryan or Ree-Ann

Youngest DD was Alice for a day or two until we decided it just didn't suit her, so we changed it to Amy. Lots of those around too :)

Like so many have already said, it's difficult to decide until you actually see them. Have fun choosing :flower:

It's been interesting reading this thread - we are currently undecided on Baby's name!

Last time round was easy as we both liked Molly and in fact she was 'Molly' before she was conceived! We didn't know any Mollys so we weren't worried that she wouldn't look like one. The only objection was from my mother who used to know a Mollie who she didn't like (we ignored that as it would probably have been the case whatever name we'd picked (my mother doesn't like a lot of people!!)) In the event we were pleased to have a name as she went straight to SCBU (only for 26 hours as thankfully there turned out to be nothing wrong) as at least I felt she had an identity when she was on her own.

This time we, at the moment, have Craig (left over from last time) and Louise both of which we like but we're not sure - It's such a responsibility!

It took me ages to think of a girls name I liked, couldn't think of one at all so its good I had a boy, when I was pregnant there wasn't another Callum around at all (except for george bests kid) but by the time Callum Mackenzie Foy joined us there were loads!!

DH and I have had major disagreements about what to call our little one, luckily we had a name for a girl but not for a boy - good job she is a girlie then! :)

The boys names that I liked were:

Jay - DH was ok with this one
Sam - DH didn't like I thought it was a nice strong name
Tom - DH didn't like this one either, I did though

I'm not going to tell you what name we have picked eventually for her though cos my relatives sometimes browse the DIS and it's a secret until she is born.

I must say though that we do like Jessica and Rosie.

Favourite name for a girl is Eleanor (Ellie). Also like Grace and Sinead (must be the Irish rubbing off on me :) )

For boys, I really like William (we were going to call our DS that but with a surname like Alcock, it's just asking for trouble :rotfl: ). He ended up with Daniel, which has really grown on me and I now love the name. Also, I like Connor and Luke for boys.

My youngest DD is called Rhiannon - she has since told me she likes her name because no-one else has it. Eldest DD is Sian, which used to be quite rare but think there are now another 3 Sian's in her school.

May I join?

I have 3 boys, Connor 9, Aaron 7 and Brett 5. Our #4 boy is due the end of November. So we are going with a D name, to keep with a, b, c, d. We like the name Dean, Dane, Declan, and Devon. I'm pretty keen on Dean! :teeth: However, my husband and Aaron like Devon, and I've always loved the name Declan and so does Brett. Connor really wanted a girl, so he's not chosen which name he likes best. Because my husbands background is Irish, I would have preferred a D name that was Irish. Do any of you have any suggestions for that?
We go with 2 middle names for our children, so the middle names will probably be Alan, Robert.

My DD2 is Caroline Rhiannan. DD1 is Catherine Angharad and Ds is Jonathan Owain. All three middle names, as well as Sian, are Welsh.

My son is a Joseph but is known as Joe or Joe-Joe - by his nursery friends.

In the future for boys I like
Etienne - French for Stephen (DH's name) DH hates this too
Archie
Finley - DH hates this

For Girls
Madeline (Maddy)
Amelie - French for Amelia

There are some beautiful names suggested.

I have no little ones but names I like are Scarlett and Finlay.

Howere when we got the puppy I wanted to call him Kobe but apparently this is the name of a famous porn star :rotfl2: I was thinking Kobe Bryant - basketball player.

I wonder how Nic know that LOL :rotfl:

My DD is Taryn Jade and DS is Daniel Stuart (Dan). If I were to have another one then I like the female names Lily Frances or Kiaya Rose, and the boys name Joseph (Joe) or James (Jamie), but I also like Charlie. Good job I'm not having any more as it would be a very difficult decision.

We have a DS called Alex (just Alex) Owain. He'll have to reply to being asked his name and say "just Alex".
DH and I went on our first WDW trip in July 2000 - we went for 3 weeks as we knew we would be trying for kids and so we thought it might be some time before we went back. We bought a wooden nameplate: ALEX whilst at AK. We have a photo of the 2 of us outside AK with the Disney bag with the nameplate inside. We knew that if we had a girl or boy we would call him/her Alex.

BTW - we went back with Alex in June 2003 (he was 22 months) and then Dec 2003. We are due to go back 29/12 - 7/1. So much for not going back for a while.

We're thinking of sorting out some company for Alex and the names we like are:

Girl's Names: Niamh, Evelyn, Frances
Boy's Names: Evan, Iwan or spelt Euan/Ewan
:umbrella:
