Baby Names

I really like Evangeline, Eve for short.

(Got 2 Disney references in with that one, too!)

My very first thought was Annabelle. It's super cute and a cross between the two you like.

I also love Adelaide. So cute. Addie for short is super cute, too. :thumbsup2

I had no idea my son's name would be so common.. it seemed to explode the year he was born. We hear people calling "him" everywhere we go.

Also, it was very sad when he was in K and he signed the holiday card to his grandma "Nathan M." I would never had done it if I had known they would be everywhere.

I did the exact same thing :guilty:

I named my DS Taylor, at the time I knew of no one else with a child with that name. Well a year or so later, everyone started naming their girls Taylor. Around the 5th grade or so my DS asked why I gave him a girls name. Even a family member (DH's cousin) named their daughter Taylor. She is about 3 years younger than DS (who is now 20). Gets confusing around the holidays :sad2:

Some names I think are cute for girls are:

Ella (friend just used that one)
Zoe, Zowie or Zoie
Ashlyn
Abby

Best wishes on the little girl!!

My sister just named her baby Charlotte. Really pretty name. Like the names Holly and Molly. Lots of those my age, but no one seems to be naming little girls Molly or Holly now.

Also I think Emma and Grace are pretty. Also works as a good first name/middle name combo: Emma Grace. Sounds like a movie star!

WHY do you do this????

And OP, I like Caroline Grace or Ava Grace. I also like Aliza. DD had a little girl in her pre-school class name Aliza and she was the cutest little girl. :cutie:

My DS Taylor asks the same thing!

I LOVE the names Annabelle and Annabeth.

DD's middle names, Tatiana and Isabella, have become much more popular over the last decade. It's impossible to know what will become trendy so I suggest not worrying about that.

If my dd wasn't Piper, she'd be Cecilia.. I love that name. I'm another one that had a common name growing up though, and I wanted to avoid that at all costs!

Cecilia Anne
Anne Elizabeth
Annabeth Hope
Isabella Marie ( I know Marie is old fashioned, but it's the first one that popped into my head, and I like the way it sounds!)

My list of names were

Olivia
Sophia
Makenna
Arabella
Arianna
Brooklyn
Tenille

We chose Brooklyn Makenna

Caroline
Susannah
Valerie

My dd is Valerie and it is unique. She was the only Valerie in high school of 1100 students.

Good luck choosing a girls name, I found it so hard!

I like more modern names but if you are looking for more traditional names

Olivia
Grace
Marie
Anne
Elizabeth
Victoria

I wanted to name my daughter Aliza but hubby said ABSOLUTELY NOT. It reminded him of Liza Minelli. :confused3

I also like the name Amara for a girl. A few others on my list would be Reagan, Brynn, Addison or Ava.

DD13 is Annabelle Julia.

She likes how ladylike it feels and that it's unusual. She says she also likes the "double l, e" spelling because it's more unusual. The downsides: people can't believe she doesn't use a nickname, she gets called "Isabella" sometimes, and "it can be bothersome when your name doesn't fit on the fill-in-the-blanks line." I will tell you also that she has searched in vain for 13 years for her name on a personalized anything on those racks at kids stores and airports.

I think her name suits her, and love that no one can say, Oh, you must have named your baby in the year ______. If that is not an issue for you, I sure have heard a lot of Regan, Peyton, Olivia, Grace, and Savannah lately. All pretty.

On the TB we have a thread of what we want to name our future kids. This is my list, it may help you.

Isabel Luna
Julie Vienna
Laureen Victoire
Whitney Dominica

If it hasn't already been mentioned, Isabella usually gets shortened to Izzy or Bella... would that drive you nuts? My current fav names are: Lilliana, Livy or Olivia, and Bridgette

Oh I missed this post! Valerie is an awesome name if I do say so myself!!! Just hate it when people shorten it to Val without my permission! Yes I do realize I have Val in my profile name, but GrimGrinningValerie was just too long :}

Hey! Me and hubby were thinking about Anabelle. :woohoo:

That's what I was going to suggest. I like the Annabel spelling, though.

You could also do Susannah with the nickname Annie.

Some other names I like:

Alice
Beatrice
Bronwen
Cecilia
Clara
Calla
Daphne
Evadne
Eva
Eloise
Eleanor
Emma
Elsa
Isadora (Sadie, Dora)
Lilias
Louisa
Margaret
Penelope
Sylvia/Sylvie
Viola

When you decide on a name, will you let us know what you picked?

We have several variations picked out. Some favorites:

Lilah Faith
