Baby Name Help!!!!

I am part Cherokee and Apache so all my adopted children have an Indian name. We named our first adopted son,
Shawnee Kalil Scott.....2nd was Colton Dakota Keith...
Girls are Kimberly Cheyenne Aleta and Kenya Cherokee
Myriah and Kiley Cherokee McKenzie.
If we adopt again we will stick with an Indian Name and I also love: Kelsey, Carson, Kasey (or Casey), Carrington,
Kensington, Jordan, Kolby, Cameron, Hunter & Adrian.
I also like the name Kiowa (Indian) for a girl or boy.

As you can see, we like unusual names.:thumbsup2

Judy and the Special Angels

My boys are Jack Matthew & Ryan Barrett. My Sister just found out she is expecting twins!!! I can't wait to help with the name suggestions!!!:)

I have a Jackson Crighton and a Cooper Kennedy (middle names are family names and Jackson honors XH and my dad). I was hesitant about Jackson because it is soooo popular. It really fits him though. I was nervous about Cooper too (as it was "different" and I got a lot of comments on it). I am so happy now with both names.

Jackson and Cooper wre the boys names we had picked out as well. But, we had 2 girls Sydney and Aubrey. Still love both those names.

how about doing what this disneyholic did? Name him Walter Elias like I did! You after that guy?

I named my kids Brandon Taylor, Jacob Dylan, Jordan Alexis, and Jeremi Alexander...I loved the J's after the 2nd child, so my first now feel like he's one of a kind with the only B.
Other names we like were Journey, if this baby was a girl here name would have been Jealyn Riley. I am 8 1/2 months preggo right now! We picked names early on, but decided on Jeremi only like 2 months ago. I just can't wait to see the lil' guy!!:woohoo:

I have a ton of names we have to avoid and maybe thats the problem. Names we need to avoid are...

Jack (Godson), Christian, Easton, Harrison, Cohen, Collin, Dane, Preston, Evan, Jesse, Mitchell, Jordan, Braden, Bradley, Joesph, Robert, Gavin, Owen, Ashton, Tyler, Nicholas, Austin, Jeremy, Chase, Hunter, Ryan, and Brian.

Plus on top of that I work with kids and if a "bad" one comes along with a name I like then that name is usually out too. I was up again last night running through names that were possibilities and I thought I came up with a good one. But I woke up this morning and couldn't remember what it was so I guess it wasn't that good anyway. Now my DH is saying that he likes William but I really wont like it if people start calling him Bill. I thought about using the God fathers name as the middle name but I don't think DH likes it. Because everytime I suggest it he makes a funny face. The Godfathers name is Nathan.

That's why we ended up with one syllable first names for #2 &#3. We hated the nicknames for the other names we liked.:sad2:

One way to avoid him being called Bill. Call him Will. We know several kids with the name William and they all go by Will. Or use William as the middle name and something else as the first name.

Good Luck!

If it makes you feel better about not having a name we didn't have a name for DS#3 until the day before I went in to be induced.

Of course, another reason we had trouble was people in DH's family kept pushing for us to name one of our sons after his grandfather :rolleyes1 Which is why we sat down with the family bible. We hoped by picking a name out of the bible they wouldn't be upset that we didn't name him Wilmott Luther! :scared: Luckily DH's family had diligently kept the bible up to date for the last 250 years. :goodvibes

I love the name William, with Will as a nickname.

We just named ours John - good solid timeless name that not too many kids are being named these days. The other DS is Alexander.

How about Lincoln, Patrick, Hart, Holden, Weston, Lane, Cooper, Levi, Garret, Garrison, Quenton, Trent, Trey, Victor, Zane?

I am 1 of 7 kids & have 7nephews & 1neice, so I have a bunch of "NO" names. too!

I go toward "country" names.
My kids are: Justin Tyler(9) & Jordyn Victoria(4)

BTW CONGRATS!

I liked William too but hated the nickname Bill. My moms dads name was William and it would have been nice, but Bill!!!!???? Will is great though!

I say go with Nathan or Ethan :)

When I had my son 27 years ago, we did not want his name to be able to be shortened. So we named him Lee McKinlay. McKinlay being a family name. Now he and his wife are expecting a girl who was due yesterday, she hasnt decided to show herself yet. They are naming her Layne.

My girls are Shelby, and Kaleigh (pronounced Cal - lee).

Other boy names we had in mind were: Zane, Asher or Duncan.

I have 5 boys named:

Joseph Ronald (Joey)
Nicholas Ryan (Nicky)
Daniel Patrick (Danny)
Michael Edward (Mikey)
Timothy James (Timmy)

Other posters have suggested it, but I also wanted to chime in and say that I think Bennett would be perfect with your kids! :) Ben and Sam sound adorable together, but Bennett is more modern than Benjamin, so it bridges the gap between traditional (Samuel) and more modern (Alyssa). Of course, none of that matters if Bennett doesn't grab you, but it's the first name I thought of when I read your other kids' names.

I think Jacob would also work nicely for the same reasons, but it doesn't seem as perfect to me as Bennett does.

I would also suggest checking out the website Nymbler (nymbler.com), which allows you to enter names you like, like your kids' names, and then generates a list of names that are stylistically similar. Some of the results can be so-so, but usually they're great, so I think it's worth a shot!

Good luck! :goodvibes

DH and I aren't trying and don't have kids, but we talk about it often, and some of the names we've picked out is

Joshua Edward
Grayson Paul (Gray)
Andrew James
Byron
Zander
Landon
Jackson
Leland
Jayson
Colton
Mason Alexander
Wyatt
Hunter

Can't wait to hear what you pick!!!

My cousin wanted to name his son Anikin (after starwars.....hes weird).

My DD had an Anakin in her kindergarten class last year.

A friend of mine named his son Logan after Wolverine in X-men.

My brother named his boys Alexander Joseph and Daniel James. They go by AJ & DJ. Confusing!

DS is Andrew. The only name DH & I agreed on. Actually, I conceded. I liked the name Drew. I don't like Andy. When he was a baby, when someone would call him Andy, I would just say, "Please call him Andrew, I don't like Andy..." Once they heard it with our last name, they would agree it sounded bad and call him Andrew or Drew.

DD is named Clarissa(after my mother) Rose and we call her Claire. I've had that name picked out since I was 10.

I love the name Timothy. I don't know why, just do. Since our last name begins with TH we ruled that name out quickly. I also like Simon. Another name I wanted to use was my maiden name. DS's initials would have been CLT so I wanted to call him Colt. DH quickly said no. I was getting desperate and grasping at about anything.

Vance is an awesome name - don't know why it isn't more popular.

I found out that I'm being induced on the 27th! :cool1: Can't wait to be DONE!! However, I'm not anywhere closer on a decision about the name. Maybe he'll just pop out wearing a name tag! Thanks again to everyone for sharing their thoughts!
