I will be travelling from the UK in February with my 4 month old. She will be going on to formula milk shortly and I would like to know which brands are available to buy in a Publix supermarket as this will be nearest to our villa.

Thank you for any help.

Enfamil, Similac and Carnation should be available at any grocery store.

I think WalMart has really good formula prices:D

Hi
We used enfamil for dd when we were there in September, she was 6mths old. Can highly recommend it. What I did was bring a few cartons of ready made aptamil with me and introduced the enfamil at every other feed for a day before putting her fully on the enfamil. HTH

Just another piece of information! The baby care stations in the parks all sell carnation brand formulas.

You should consult with your child's doctor about formula. (you probably will of course) You don't want an unhappy tummy if the formula isn't right. If you have an older child who has used formula successfully, they may suggest that brand. Some children cannot use certain brands.

You might consider having a few weeks of formula under her belt before venturing out.

If you are not having problems with breastmilk, consider waiting until you return home. WDW is very baby friendly in all ways: formula and feeding stations very nice. It is acceptable to feed baby anywhere of course but the quiet and relaxing baby areas help baby and parent better.

Hope all goes well for you! A baby is wonderful to take on holiday!

It might be helpful to contact the formula manufacturer and ask what the equivalent names are here in the US. I have no idea if they're they same here & in the UK, but I'm sure they can help you out. If not, the powdered formula is the easiest to pack :)

I used the Wal-Mart brand of baby formula with my second baby. I believe UK has Wal-Mart (don't they?) - if they do, I recommend it. The price is great.
My first son was lactose intolerant and the second had a reflux problem - so I've tried a lot of formulas and was pleased.
I agree that you might contact the manufacturer and check for names the formulas are marketed under in the states.

Also, another thread was about bringing drinks into the park and I mentioned there that I brought the baby bottles in a soft side cooler. Some people like to make the bottles as they go - but Orion's bottles were difficult to mix because of his reflux.
We checked with Customer Relations and they said to ask any vendor for ice to pack around the baby bottles. The ice is made from reclaimed water and you need to clarify that you are using it only to pack in the cooler.

Just a thought. Is there anyway that you could hold off switching her to formula until after your trip? With a long flight ahead of you, a new place for a wee baby and concerns about the right formula availability, you might find it easier to continue breastfeeding for your trip. I breastfed my two youngest kids all over the place and it sure made it easy when we went to WDW. Didn't have to worry about toting enough formula or bottles or how I was going to wash them each night or assure that they were sanitized. I could feed immediately anywhere and didn't have to mix anything. I even fed them while standing in line :D (sure helped keep them from being bored!)

Just an idea from a mom who has done both!

If breastfeeding is difficult for you as it was for me and both of my sons, I would recommend trying out the formula first before the trip as others have suggested. My first son took regular formula with no problems, but the second has allergies and could not tolerate cow's milk formula or soy and is on Alimentum which is hypoallergenic. It would be easier knowing what your child can tolerate before the trip than worrying about formula issues at WDW...just a thought. Good luck and have a magical vacation.
