Remember her? She was the little baby who fell down an 8 inch pipe. Well, she got married. Here's the link Man, I'm getting old. :faint: 18 years ago. I was still in high school when that happened. Maybe I need to brew :stir: something up that'll keep me young.

LOL
"Ugh, I feel old" was the first thing I thought about when I saw that this morning. :hourglass

Oh my goodness! How fast time does fly. I did not realize it had been that long ago. I remember that vividly. I was glued to the TV when that was happening praying for her.

Thank you for the update!

Yep, I feel old, too!!! I was a senior in college when Baby Jessica was rescued!!! The combination of this story, remembering the Challenger disaster (I was in college then, too) and the fact that my 40th b-day is about 2 weeks away all makes me feel ancient.

I will always remember that day. My nephew was her age, he was 15 months old, and my sister was on duty for the Army Reserves. I was babysitting him and hos baby brother, 5 months old. Adam started getting warm. I lived with my mom, so she helped me tend to him, I was young and had no idea how to deal with a sick baby. I was sitting in the chair holding him, he had no shirt on, I put my hand on his back to rub it, and it felt like I touched a hot iron. My mom called my sister at work, but she was in a convoy. I put the baby in the car, and drove to her unit, and waited for her. She took his temp and it was 105 degrees. !!!!! So, we head to the ER. I am freaking out, because on the way over, he started to roll his eyes back in his head, and all I could think of was keep him awake.

Well, only my sister was allowed in, so I waited, and the Baby Jessica ordeal was on the TV. The poor baby was the same age as my nephew, and we didn't know what was wrong with him. I will never forget my 1st ER visit with a baby, and I will never forget Baby Jessica.

Adam just got back from serving 6 months in Afghanstan....so yeah, I sure do know how time flies!

I certainly do remember the Jesscia story; doesn't seem like it was really that long ago.

I also remember the aftermath even more, because Jessica was sent money from all over the world from well-wishers and had a very nice little fund (hundreds of thousands of dollars, actually) set up for her. Her parents started fighting for control over her $$$ and eventually divorced, largely in part because of it.

I hope that Jessica has lived, and continues to live, a happy life. I also hope that her parents didn't deplete her funds before she was able to gain control of the monies meant for her.

I remember it well. and I was around 4 or 5 years old. I remember it because I kept saying to my dm and df that "I'm not in a well." I thought I was the only girl in the world named Jessica.

One of the articles said she has over 1 million waiting for her when she turns 25.

Let's just hope this guy isn't in it to get to the money ~ that would be horrible.

I remember the challenger tragedy too, I was eating my breakfast and waiting on a friend to go to school when they showed on TV!

I agree. Maybe it's just my "advanced age", but I tend to be skeptical about relationships like this because I have seen the love of money turn people into greedy little monsters. I hope I'm wrong!!

The groom is 32 and she is 19. I really hope he is not in it for the money though he would have to stick around 6 yrs for her to get the money.

If you're an "Old Fart" then so is her husband! He's 32 and must have been in middle school or high school when it happened.

Sorry to have ruined everyone's day by making them feel bad... :lmao: , actually I'm not. I just thought of what my mom always use to say, "Share." So, I figured if I was feeling old spread it around. :teeth:

LOL! :rotfl2: Yup! I just turned 33. It just sounds crazy when you say 18 or 19 years ago. :lmao:
