Evening!

Just wondered if any mums and dads could help me out. When we visited DLP earlier in the year our DS was still feeding exclusivly on milk - when we visit in Dec he will be 13 months and is now fully weaned. That said I am struggling with the idea of spending 10ish euros a meal for him from the childrens menu when I know he will only eat a fraction of it. Can anyone tell me do the table service restaurants offer anything other/smaller than the standard childrens menu for children? We will be eating in some buffets which will be fine but we do want to have some proper sit down meals too.

TIA :goodvibes

We took our son when he was 12 months old. We fed him from our plates. One of us would normally have pasta or a salad so he seemed happy enough. We also got him some baby ready meals from the shop in the train station to make sure he had a proper meal every day. They have microwaves in most of the counter service outlets so it's easy to heat them up.

We knew he wouldn't eat a full childs meal and as you say, 10-15E is too much to spend on a meal when the child will leave most of it.

We have just got back with our son who is 2. At lunchtimes we went to the all you can eat buffets (cafe at agrabah, restaurant des stars and plaza gardens) where under 3's are free. The buffet costs about 23 euros per head, but the unexpected bonus was that we were too full in the evening to have the pricey meals in Disney Village that I had budgeted for. Instead we bought bagettes and sandwiches, and saved the money to fritter in the store!

i am planning on feeding her from our plates and maybe making a little sandwhich using the ham/cheese and rolls from breakfast for her. i am also going to bring some of the Hipp toddler meals (in the tray for age 1-3 years) so that i know she is getting one good meal a day in her. I think i will probably bring some of the organix fruit pots as well and will probably buy some fruit in M and s before we get on the eurostar as it will keep cool on the window in the hotel. And i will be bringin toddler milk as i know when we took our nephew before he hated the french milk! and some raisens and dried fruit for snacks.

If you're lucky, you might just have enough room left to pack some clothes!!!

We took our son away twice this year and both times my girlfriend went way over the top when packing. The result was that we had lots of stuff that we didn't use, we had to pay a lot extra for the suitcases at the airport because they were overweight, and I got a bad back from carrying them around everywhere.

There's lots of healthy food options in the park for babies. The shop in the train station sells readymeals that are great and they also have most of the extras you'd need (nappies, wipes, fruit etc...). There's always the Auchan aswell.

The French baby milk is strange though. Why is it brown?!? My son seemed to dring it happily enough.

we managed to take 2 weeks worth of food to florida when we went in March with her, we travel light, she travels heavy! lol, but we will have more than enough room, i prefer to take my own so i know whats in it, plus the stuff in disney is so expensive :scared1:. We were there a month ago and there really wasnt a great deal of healthy things for her, we tend to eat in the counter service places and everything comes with chips so i think the best option for us is to bring from home. As for the milk i am def not risking that as our nephew flatly refused it and wouldnt drink a drop of the stuff. I will probably take the prepared stuff as that will save having to hire a kettle. we wont be flying but if we managed to get 2 weeks worth of stuff in one case for florida then paris will be fine!

Thanks all some great ideas! I hadn't thought about making sandwiches from breakfast thats a great idea - and the Hipp meals sound like a good plan too :) I seem to remember someone saying that you could get fruit in salon Mickey now too so might nab some of that - thank you all - I'm glad no one thought I was being mean by refusing to buy him a meal! lol!

Just to let you know we took milk and made it up on our last trip - French milk is also really expensive around 18euros a tub!! :scared1: We took the ready made cartons with a milton steriliser and it worked a treat!

I seem to remember someone saying that they used to buy an extra side dish in table service restaurants then sharing with their own food- much cheaper than a childs meal

When we went last year Adam was 11mths. Silver spur gave us a jar of dinner for him (heinze I think) and a jar for dessert!! It was free. Then someone else I met over there said all the table service places do the same, you just have to ask. This time when we go Lucie will be 8 mths. We will bring some jars with us and her formula.
