Baby Elephant name

Okay, can somebody name the baby elepahants at Animal Kingdom and their mothers? Vasha had Kianga July 7th or 8th in 2004. What is the name of the baby boy that was born before her? Does anybody else remember when the third baby is due? (Last this summer maybe?!) Thanks for any help!

Not sure if this is the one you're talking about, but one was born May 22 or 23rd 2003. We were there on his birthday last year! They also said one was born late February 2004 but he/she wasn't on the savannah yet.

Unfortunately, AK found out that the 3rd baby was not meant to be. It is stillborn in the mother's womb. She was due in April.

I believe there is another elephant Mom-to-be due soon.

When we were there in Feb. 2005 there was a baby girl and a baby boy on the Savannah and then there was the animatronic Little Red. I think the baby girl was Kianga but I can't remember the name of the little boy. May 2003 would be about the right age because our local zoo had a baby about three days off from the Animal Kingdom's baby.

A lady I work with said there was one just born named Kayla. (Her daughter's name is Kayla and she just thought that was cool.) However, no one else seems to have heard this, so I don't know if it's correct info. or not.

The babies names are Kianga(girl) and Tufani(boy). There is no little red that is just part of the story. As mentioned earlier the one that was due in April did not make it. There is another baby due sometime late summer but I am not sure when.

I know that the first baby born is a male named Tufani which means thunderstorm (I think). Learned that on the Backstage Safari tour - but I don't remember the mother's name... I think the baby named Kayla is the new baby rhino?

Moyo had Tufani (Swahili for storm) in May 0f 2003
Vasha had Kianga (Swahili for sunshine) in July of 2004
Ibala's baby was miscarried last month
Donna is due in December
Kayla is a baby White Rhino

And it's so sad. Mouseplanet reported that the mother developed a huge infection and died. I'm sure thinking about the keepers and others who care for the elephants at AK.
