Baby Crib

We just returned from a 5 day stay at SSR and will be returning next month for a 6 day stay at AKV. We had a crib sent by SSR for our last stay and it didn't work out for our 8 month old. Any suggestions or rental ideas for a more comfortable crib would be appreciated.

Was the crib you got a full size or the pack-n-play type? We requested a full size crib for our son last August and it was a little smaller than a regular crib, but plenty of room for him(he will not fit in a pack-n-play). I know that there is a company in Orlando called A Baby's Best Friend that will deliver a crib (and other supplies) if the crib at the resort won't work. Their website is www.abbf.com. We got a double stroller from them a few years ago and were happy.

If you are having the same issues we did - hard mattress, cold metal bars through which limbs fall through - we did better our last trip bringing a crib mattress pad and soft crib sheet from home to make it softer. We also rolled up towels to create a makeshift bumper. And then switching baby to snuggle between myself and DH was the other option....

know what ou mean - had our 6 month grandson this summer and without bumper pads those cribs just don't cut it. We rented several items, including and exersaucer, from a Baby's Best Friend and were very satisfied with their items and service. You can check their rates on line.

Wonderful company. We rented a crib, toys, booster seat, etc. for our toddler and infant grandsons. Items came pre-wrapped, extremely clean, almost brand new and the full size crib assembled in no time. It's not the regular kind that takes forever! All bedding and bumpers are included.
It is waiting for you at Bell Services when you arrive and you return all items back to Bell Services and it will be picked up there. We loved it and are doing it again for our trip in January.

I rented a crib from abbf.com for DS on our May trip. He was 13 mo at the time, and it worked very well. Crib was easy to put together (I did it on my own, and I'm not very good at those things!) and had a regular crib mattress. Plus, bedding includes bumpers, etc., if you want to use them. I did bring an extra mattress pad and crib sheet, just in case, but did not need them.

We rolled up the extra flat sheet and threaded it through some of the bars to keep DD from bumping her head on the metal bars too. She didn't seem to like the pack 'n play or the crib that was sent to our room, but between an ear infection and new surroundings, I think she was over tired and over stimulated.

We had our own sheets for the pack 'n play, but since we didn't use it, I can't say if sheets from home would make a difference, but they may since they smell familiar.

We rented from a different company this year and found it was much better than abbf. They have new commerical cribs delivered and set up right in our room. Last time we used abbf there were pieces missing. After a day of traveling through airport with little ones, I didn't want to have to put together a crib. For $70 we got a full size crib with awesome bedding that was nicer than what we have at home.
