Baby/child Swap Question and one other

I was thinking about a planning a trip with my wife and 14th month old (14 months in November -- when I was thinking) and wanted to more about the baby swap thing Disney has. The way I see it is that you all wait in line and lets say my wife goes on a ride and I stay with our son... then when she is off we swap. Does this work for all rides or just thrill rides? Some site I went to made it sound like it was only for Big Thunder and rides like that.

Also is there a list someone that shows what our son will be able to ride on with us. I mean does Disney go by height for tame rides like pooh and small world or if he sits in between us are we fine?

We've used Child Swap many times as our DS8 is not much of a daredevil. Check out http://www.wdwinfo.com/childswap.htm for more info on Child Swap. You do have the correct idea for how it works. Your Ds will probably be able to ride more at Disney than you think. Obviously he can't ride the coaster type rides, but a lot of Disney rides are small child friendly.

Most rides at disney do not have a height restriction. PEter pan and all can be ridden by infants held in someones arms. This is what makes Disney the best...it really is for kids!

We use babyswap often, as recently as April 07.

Childswap or Rider switch is only offered on height restricted rides. The first parent rides via the standby line or uses a fast pass. Tell the CM at the entrance to the line you want to rider swap - the baby/child who dosen't meet the restriction must be present so the CM can verify that you qualify. The CM will give the parent riding second a rider swap pass. The rider swap pass is valid for up to 3 people on that attraction via the FP line anytime that day.

The parent riding second can either take the child to do something else or just wait for the first parent to finish. There is usually a playground or something fun to do close by.

14 mos is a great time for WDW, my dd was 15mos her frist trip and it was one of our favorites! He can ride anything without a height restrction - restrictions can be found here:

My dd loved them all including POTC, Haunted Mansion and Malestrom Her language exploded that trip, she called all the rides "boats" and all week we heard "more boats please"!
