When we travel to Orlando in June, we will be travelling with a new tiny addition....can anybody recommend or give advice on baby carriers or slings.

The jelly baby will only be a few months old so something supportive is a must, but other than that the whole sling/carrier thing is baffling me and I am completely unsure what I should be looking for.

Thank you!!!

If only a few months old then look at a moby wrap. So fab and comfy for a new born :)

Also look at mei-tai's.

We took dd at 7mths and dh carried him lots in a baby bjorn active carrier but I'm now into more natural position slings and wraps but dh still loves his baby bjorn carrier!

No substitute for a good pushchair though but fab for lines, airports etc...

Christie :)

Also Check out the natural mamas web site for lots of sling info but this will be on wraps and slings and not carriers so depends on what your views are :)

Brilliant, will have a gander at the website.

I really have no idea so at the mo I dont have a preference, all I know is he poor love will be up and down all day going in queues so something that is easy to fasten will be much help!

Can I ask, when you took our 7mnth was it hot? I am concerned about the heat of me/hubby next to a baby - is there special carriers that keep little ones cool"er"

Thanks!

We went in may with dd ans it was v hot. Moby prob wouldn't be best idea just thinking about it for ease of getting in and out. My choice would be a baby hawk mei tai for ease of access - just googled and it would be suitable for your age range.

I did a whole post out on disney baby travel - i could try find it if u want? A comfy buggy - not a cheap flimsy one - it a huge must and we had a parasol and fan. Disney with a baby is fab and I wouldn't hesitate again!

Any questions ask away!

This is me answering someones question - hope you don't mind me repeating but would take ages to type our again! If your little one not eating then ignore that bit lol!

I took lots of pouches of ellas kitchen with me and bought some baby food there but wasn't very impressed with it. I also took 24 cartons of ready made SMA progress and then used the space on the way home for souveniers - depends who your flying with for weight allowances - virgin were great. What needed for flight in hand luggage and no probs with customs as didn't bring in any meat products and declared it verbally at customs as in MCO they ask everyone before sending you on through or for extra checks - we got sent on through with food and milk.

She was 7.5 months and handled flight no probs. When she got a bit unsettled DH took her for a walk around the cabin and this worked wonders. Milk/juice on take off and decent for her ears.

Best piece of advice I can give you is to buy a buggy fan from mothercare and bring spare batteries - it was a life saver and we were stopped by multiple people each day to see where we got it from. Its bright green and looks life a bird but you can also pull the fan out of its holder and use it in your hand. Took it on the flight too for ammusement factor!

Spray on sun cream and used steriliser bags and tablets from mothercare too. Took a small washing up basin and bottle brush and packed all her food in it in the suitcase so didn't take up any room.

Any others let me know

ps - I've no problems answering q's as I found very little info on infants before I went!

Thanks, I will have a look at the Baby Hawk and the mei tai. Ours will only be at most 2 months old so no food requirements....this time!!!!

Will def get a fan, and am going to take the pram because of the young age.

Thanks so much for all your recomendations, it makes it all so much easier when someone has "been there done that" experience!
