When we go to Disney our DD will be 11 months. Can anyone recommed a good baby carrier or sling that would be good for her? I just wanted something other than the stroller.

I haven't tried one myself (the whole twins thing - just never did anything without the double stroller...) but I've heard LOTS AND LOTS of rave reviews about Becos. http://www.becobabycarrier.com/ If I am lucky enough to have a singleton at some point in life, I'm planning on getting one! Also check out thebabywearer.com - I'm sure there are folks there who can give lots of experienced advice. :thumbsup2

ETA- if you were to get a beco, do a search for them, other retailers will often have them on sale for cheaper than the manufacturer's site. ;-)

Yup, a soft structured carrier would be great at that age (you can throw her on your back!) My fave by far is the beco 4th generation, but they aren't being made anymore. The new version isn't my favorite at all.

You can something similar, but not quite as "pretty" with the Ergo or Toddler Patapum, which are also more affordable.

If you don't want a SSC, a Mei Tai would also do the trick, just not quite as structured.

You're going to want a carrier that distributes the weight on both shoulders, so I'd steer away from a sling or pouch.

I had a Maya Wrap ring sling and liked it. I was able to distribute my little ones weight in ways that worked for me. And because it was flexible in which way to carry them, it made it workable for different situations.

When my DS was that age and older I LOVED the hip hammock by playtex. It was very easy to take on and off and comfortable It's soft and easy to fold and take with you. You can use it until 36# so you'll get your money worth. Good way to keep your hands free if your child likes to be carried. Going in Sept with 11month nephew It will also come along.

We used a mei-tai (a kozy) around disneyland at that age, and then when we went back when ds was 17 months we used both the mei-tai and the ergo. We're going in 2 weeks and ds is 21 months, and we're bringing our Ergo. It's very comfortable, the only thing that made the mei-tai better was that it folded up smaller, but not really a big deal.
