Baby Care Centers in Park Review

Funny, I was @ the Epcot Baby center about a month ago and they wouldn't let me bring in the stroller, but the baby wasn't sleeping so it wasn't an issue. I love this center, it is the only one that I took advantage of using. It was spotless. They had everything you could possibly need there except for ice. I forgot my son's ice pack for his bottle bag, but they sent me to first aid right next door, and the CM gave me a very large baggie filled with ice. Very convenient and like the other posters, I didn't want to leave and go out in the heat!!! It was just too nice!

I think the CM felt sorry for me. He did tell me that strollers usually aren't allowed in the baby care center. The center was just huge compared to MGM, so I was a little surprised when they let me in with no problem, but Epcot said they usually didn't.

We leave on Friday, :cool1: and I'm now excited to check out the AK baby center!!

Two questions: Forgive me for seeming dense, but am I reading it right that DH and older daughter can accompany me into the nursing station/area? Or were you watching a movie in a common, open area, with nursing stations off of it? It would be nice to sit and chat with DH while older DD watches a movie while I'm nursing DD2.

The nursing rooms say for nursing mothers only. At MGM it is a room for one mom and there is a bench, but it is cramped with just the one person. At Epcot, there is alot of room, but there can be multiple moms in there at a time. I don't think they would let your dh in with you. However at Epcot there is other areas that both your dh and dd could wait inside. There is a little playroom with a tv that your dd could play in for a while and I saw other dh's in a waiting area/feeding area waiting for their dws.

I can't wait to check them all out. I'm sure I'll take a quick break in all the baby centers with bringing a one year old that may still be nursing a little. I'm such a germ-a-phobic person. Anyone out there that can tell me how they would rate the cleanliness factor? 1-being as dirty as a porti-poti to 10- being you could almost eat off the floor...

To me they seemed pretty clean. All of the changing tables had liners on them. Some had rolls that you could pull to cover the table and others had a stack of liners and you just threw away the one you used. The kitchen area at Epcot was spotless and smelled pleasantly clean. At MGM, there was sooo many people in there and it was so small, I could image it was hard to keep clean. Both centers I used had hand washing only areas in the changing table area.

I did Disneyland in March with a 21 month old who was still nursing a bit and I was 5 months pregnant also. Although I didn't use the centers then, they would have been an awesome, cool place to get off my feet when waddling all day.

I just wanted to add a few things. We have annual passes and have used the baby care centers since ds was 6 weeks old. He is now 2 years old.

Epcot---the lights in the nursing room are adjustable for each rocker. There is a dimmer switch behind each rocker. Often during busy season, all the rockers were taken in the nursing room. I just sat on the floor to nurse when this happened. Each time I had requested to the CM that they need a garbage can in the nursing room, however, only once had one ever been there. I explained to them about disposable nursing pads and needing having a place to dispose of them in the room would be nice. There is a trash can located just outside of the nursing room, near the sink.

In my many talks with CM I was informed that they are to clean changing tables after each use and every hour whether or not someone uses the table. I have found that a few adhere to this, but most do not.

For the older kids waiting, there is a tv in each baby care center (not MGM's). Usually the staff has a movie playing. If not, it's usually the Disney Channel.

There are toys in most of the baby care centers (not MGM's). I have only witnessed them being cleaned once at the end of the day. Of course, at Epcot my son spies these toys every time. They sell most of these toys in the Epcot baby care center.

The changing tables at MGM, MK, and Epcot are huge. The changing tables at AK are very tiny. My toddler can stretch out on the big ones, but he is too long for the AK ones.

The parking for strollers are the different babycare centers are as follows: AK can bring stroller inside, MK park just outside between the first aid center and baby care center. I usually park along the wall, because if there is an unexpected downpour, the ones parked near Crystal palace will get soaked. At Epcot the parking is along the walls between the first aid and baby care centers. Be careful if you park by the trees. Twice we got bird droppings on our stroller, gross. I usually park on the left hand side between the two centers or by the button for handicap access into the center. At MGM you can take the stroller inside the center. However, it is very small and a tight squeeze. An umbrella stroller fits great, the big strollers require some creative manuevering to get to a changing table.

:yay: just bumping this up for the free diners! i can't wait!! i will hopefully get some pics this yr of these great places!!

Would I be welcome here with dd 2 1/2? She is newly potty trained and takes a while to go. Also, it might be a good place to lull her to sleep if she is grouchy.

We will be taking our DS who is still nursing at 13 months and our other DS who is 6 yrs for the first time to WDW. I was kind of nervous about what to expect :confused3 at the Baby Centers and what they will be like. Thanks for the heads up and giving us information about what to expect. :cool1: This will help us a lot.

No problem!

i go on vacation 9/29-10/6 so i will be able to take pics since i still have diapers and feedings to do! and then i will post them and update this thread with anything new :)

Do any of the baby care centers have short potties for newly trained little ones? Or is there anywhere in DW that has those? They have those in some bathrooms at our local zoo and it's so much easier for DS3 to just be able to walk up and do his own thing with me intervening.

Manda, you ask a great question, that i am not able to answer.

I am bumping this up for anyone that may be able to??
