This is a Review of the Baby Care Centers in 3 of the 4 parks!
We did not get a chance to visit the Epcot one, so if you have
been there, please post your review :)

Our least favorite of them all was definately:

MAGIC KINGDOM:

Because of the size of this place, you have to park your stroller
outside which is defeating the purpose of pulling in some place just
to have your napping baby in the AC while you prepare her lunch and
change her diaper.

HOWEVER, the staff here was fabulous! the CM on duty the day we were
there was a big help when our DD finally woke up and we went inside.
After a diaper change, we had her seated in a high chair and out of
nowhere she was throwing up :(
(She was very sickfor the rest of the day) The CM grabbed cold towels
for DD head and neck while she and dh cleaned up the mess (thankfully
it landed all in the tray). DDs binky holder was covered in yuckiness
so we had to buy one (5$?!?!?! --please remember to bring extras!! we
were not that bright and were punished by the Disney Gods with the
price tag!! haha..

The Changing room was clean and kept smelling like cinnamon thank
goodness! But the coed parents bathroom was a bit wierd when you walk
in there at the same time as a dad! haha..it was awkward but fine and
clean!

The sitting room was a bit small, but it served it's purpose. The
theming of the room was quaint and cute!

PS i think all the baby care centers need ice machines...is there a
reason they don't? and they ALL need the cold water coolers!

With no ice and no water cooler at this baby care center it was
difficult to make a bottle the way DD likes it. We were sent to
Casey's to get a cup of ice for DD to have a cold bottle..

**Up next MGM**

Sorry these are going to be choppy but i can only type when my DD is down for her nap!

MGM Studios Baby Care Center:

This one we found to be a bit drab and lacking a design. It was like
they stuck changing tables and a highchair in in the employee
caffeteria. Just too plain, this is one place where they definately
don't encourage you to linger. There is no one on staff here. i'm sure
that if you need something that GS will get it for you. They need more
than the one highchair and there is only one nursing room. We enjoyed
that it was a lot cooler than any other place in MGM and the lighting
was low so our DD could nap IN HER STROLLER! woohoo! haha...

No water cooler here though or ice, we ran into a nice woman that had
a frozen water bottle so the water was perfect! (we had already used
all our frozen water bottles at this point in the day). Because we
were meeting a friend here, we waited in the AC and it was just a
good place to relax.

Wish it was just a bit more comfortable though.

**ANIMAL KINGDOM SOON TO COME!**

Animal Kingdom Care Center:

WE LOVED IT HERE!

It was big, clean, new looking, roomy and very friendly!! AND WE
COUlD BRING OuR STROLLER! haha :)

This one was sooo air conditioned i almost needed a sweater on
this 90* day!

We came in and the CM asked us where we were headed and what we
needed!! Just a quick diaper change we said! Well as we changed DD
SHE STARTED TO FALL ASLEEP! so it was nap time too!! Well there
were like 10 changing tables and 3 nursing rooms i believe AND
a WATER COOLER! dh and i had a cold cup of water and made DD a bottle
of just water to cool her down. After the changing we went into the
other room and the CM asked us if we would like her to put a movie in.
That was nice of her. We watched a movie (rescuers down under) and DD
drank her bottle. Well then a couple with a baby and a 3 yr old
wandered in and DD was nosey! so she was wide awake!! haha..
She wanted down from her stroller and played with the 3 yr old. They
had a blast running around the play room and playing at the table
while the girls parents and my dh and i talked! it was verrrry
relaxing! Needless to say we spent about 2hrs here! YIKES!
It was great though to have some time away from the hustle and bustle
of the parks and meet new people!

DD was able to get her energy out and she was able to sit in her
stroller longer than normal! she even slept for a bit!! HOWEVER she
fell asleep when DH took her on the safari ride! haha...

That's it, i hope this helped someone! I would still love to hear how
the EPCOT one is!

After changing diapers in the rest rooms at the parks and changing them in the baby care centers we found ourselves going back to the baby care centers no matter where in the park we were...yes it was a lot of walking but it gave our DD a chance to relax outside of her stroller and not in que for a ride.

Thanks for sharing all of these details! We leave in about six weeks for DS's (16mo) first trip, and I've been debating whether or not to even check out the baby care centers, since he's no longer nursing or taking a bottle. You make them sound so inviting that I may try them out anyway!

Nicolem: i highly encourage you to stop in here and take a look around even if it's just to take a break from the day! Believe me it is soo much more comfortable to go to the bathroom here (adults and children not in diapers) or change a diaper than in
the bathrooms! They were all clean and well stocked!!

QUOTE]

I agree with everything you said but there are 2 nursing rooms there. I used both on our trip the last week of Sept. They are certainly nothing to brag about though. They reminded me of small dressing rooms.

The care center at EPCOT was nice, somewhat dated but definitely served the purpose. The nursing room had 4 or 5 rockers. There was a separate play room with videos.

Thanks for your reviews. I loved using those on our trip and would definitely recommedn them.

I was there in September and visited 3 of the 4 (all but MK).

My first visit to a baby centre was at Animal Kingdom and I couldn't say enough about it. The nursing rooms were fabulous and the staff was exceptional. It was the perfect place to get out of the heat with the baby.

After visiting AK I was really disappointed with the baby care centre at MGM. I found it to be incredibly small and crowded. There were 3 other families using it at the same time and it made it difficult to move around especially with a stroller. There are 2 nursing rooms there, but they are really small. I was by myself with the baby and my yr old and we found it very cramped and uncomfortable as well as noisy. Maybe if I wasn't nursing I wouldn't have found it to be so bad.

The centre at Epcot was a lot roomier and the nursing room was dark and calm. My other kids enjoyed being able to watch cartoons while they waited for me to finish.

Overall, I found the baby centres convenient if you were nearby, but I wouldn't always want to trek across the whole park to go back to one.

KristiKelly & Zookeeper: Thanks for posting your info on Epcot and correcting my error on the nursing rooms in MGM! I'm glad to see that many people have agreed with what i have to say and i wasn't just being nit-picky! I just feel that the centres should match the parks! A fun place to be and relax.

Have a great day everyone!

I posted a review of the Baby Care Centers about a month ago and also shared that I was very disappointed with the one at MGM. It was insanely noisy! I was trying to nurse DD to sleep and somebody put their kid in a highchair right next to the curtain for the room and they proceeded to have a very noisy lunch practically in the nursing room with us. It was just a BAD set up and there was no CM there to keep order in the place.

I was at the AK baby center in 2001. It was a wonderful place to nurse and rock my baby. It had comfortable rocking chairs, and I think it had a dimmer switch for the light to make it darker in the room. Another good thing is that it is in the middle of the park. Isn't the MGM babycenter near the park entrance? I remember it being too inconvenient to go to it.

Another positive vote for the DAK Baby Center. My wife and I (OK mainly my wife) used it during our recent visit and it was a great quiet break from the heat and noise of the parks. Our son was so much happier after feeding and resting there.

When we went in Aug-the MK one was the only one we visited and loved it. We were so impressed w/ the staff. And never found it to be crowded. We never had a sleeping baby so it wasn't an issue of pulling the stroller in so I can't speak to that.

We are just back today..

MK - Didnt get to go in because they wouldnt let me in with the stroller (DS1 2 yrs) was asleep. So I sat outside the baby care center and nursed DS2 (2 months). A very nice CM(after the not-so-nice CM) did give me some good ideas on where to go that was airconditioned

MGM - did bring in the stroller, but it was super crowded in there. Nice enough, but could use 4x the space.

Epcot - nice and big. DS1, again was asleep and I was allowed to bring in the stroller. They had just about everything you could have forgotten available there.

Didnt get a chance to use the one at DAK, but it sounds like I missed out!

Thanks to everyone for posting their reviews! it really helps in knowing what other people think! i hope we have encouraged other parents to take a peek in and visit!

I agree about the location of the DAK one being fabulous! it's really centrally located!!

Happy vacationing everyone!!

EPCOT was the only one I had a problem on last year. DD2 was 4 months and had exploded out of a diaper, I was alone with her and DD1, DH and DS were on Test Track. The CM started to give me a hard time about bringing our stroller in - I quickly informed him that I was alone with the two girls, the youngest was about to start leaking poo all over his floor and I only had two hands. He let me in with the stroller and stayed out of my way after that. :rolleyes1

Loved AK though, DD barely nursed she was trying to look at the walls the entire time, kept flipping over to look around. :teeth:

So would the popular opinion be that its is an okay place to rock a napping baby? My thoughts were that I could go to these centers and rock Tyler for an hour or so because I'm not sure he will nap in a stroller. Or are they too busy to hog a rocking chair for an hour nap? We're going the week of December 2nd.

Funny, I was @ the Epcot Baby center about a month ago and they wouldn't let me bring in the stroller, but the baby wasn't sleeping so it wasn't an issue. I love this center, it is the only one that I took advantage of using. It was spotless. They had everything you could possibly need there except for ice. I forgot my son's ice pack for his bottle bag, but they sent me to first aid right next door, and the CM gave me a very large baggie filled with ice. Very convenient and like the other posters, I didn't want to leave and go out in the heat!!! It was just too nice!

We leave on Friday, :cool1: and I'm now excited to check out the AK baby center!!

Two questions: Forgive me for seeming dense, but am I reading it right that DH and older daughter can accompany me into the nursing station/area? Or were you watching a movie in a common, open area, with nursing stations off of it? It would be nice to sit and chat with DH while older DD watches a movie while I'm nursing DD2.

At the care centers where you can't bring in the stroller, is there stroller parking outside? I would think there would have to be, but I'm just trying to envision everything and I was wondering where I'd put the stroller if DH and DD1 are on a ride and I'm nursing DD2 inside....

Thanks for all of the info on the care centers. DD1 was 5 last time we went, so I didn't know they existed!!!

You can stay in the centres as long as you wish i really didn't find them to be too crowded with people staying long. It was mainly quick diaper changes. DH stayed at the animal kingdom one for almost 2 hours i believe...DD was sleeping and then she was playing with the other kids in the room.

There is no stroller parking at the MK on per se. people just leave the strollers in a line outside. It tends to get pretty crowded, so just be sure to park it all the way against the curb on the right hand side. Not sure about the Epcot one though.

Have fun everyone!!
