I have looked at names after names... and im still finding new ones all the time that you don't hear everyday (but aren't made up either).

I'd like to hear everyone's favorite baby names for a little boy!

Thanks :)

I named my son Richard (we call him "Richie"), but mainly because my name is Richard (which is what I go by) and my father's name is Richard (he goes by Dick) and... well, you get the picture. ;)

If we had had a second son (we didn't -- we were blessed instead with twin girls :lovestruc :lovestruc), he would have been named Forrest (another family name, and one I am partial to...).

My son is Colby Joseph, but we call him CJ. If we had had another boy, he would be Mack.

We have a son that will be two in November. His name is Maclaren Thomas. It is unique but it fits him well. We can always call him Mac for a nickname, although haven't yet. His daycare lady calls him Claren for short.

good luck...choosing a name is so hard!

Dawn

Cody
Shane
Liam
Avery
Julian

These were names we considered....you can tell which 2 we picked!

My son is Henry Joseph - Henry was my dad and Joseph is my FIL (and husband, but the idea was grandfathers). Now, it's an old name, one we did not expect to hear a lot of, but wouldn't you know it, I swear we know about 20 Henrys. Every little boy we meet is named Henry, it's crazy. If this one is a boy his name will be Sebastian, middle name yet to be determined. I do know about 3-4 Sebastians, but it doesn't seem as common as Henry is lately.

Oddly enough, my daughter's name is Madison, a name we were hesitant on because it was #2 the year she was born. We have not met another Madison yet. But Henry, which is way, way down on that SS list, well, like I said, there are a ton of them.

My son is Sebastian Paul and we always get lots of complements on his name. It's an "older" name that has not been in use much lately.

As for Madison, around here that name is a dime a dozen. There were 3 Madison's in my dd's preschool class and 4 in her VBS class of just 10 kids! As for Henry, that name is pretty uncommon here, so I guess it just depends on your neck of the woods!

Yeah, my daughter Kayleigh (another common one) has tons of Madison friends.. but I don't think I've met a Henry....
My son Sage was almost a "Grayson".. love that name..

We tossed around the following boy names..........then had a girl ;)

Braden - this was 11 years ago ;)
Nicholas - I love it, always have, always will
Kenneth
Michael
Gaylen
Ian
Kendle
Drew

That's so funny. Yes, in their school there is not one other Madison but 3 other Henrys (and there are only 180 kids!). So far this summer my daughter has been in 3 daycamps and again, not 1 Madison, but 3 Henrys so far for her, and there's 1 in my son's camp class (at a different camp). It sort of irritates me cause we knew naming my daughter that we'd hear other Madisons (though we haven't), but with our son we thought he'd pretty much be the only Henry around. Oh well, we wouldn't have changed his name had we known anyway so I guess there's no point to my rant, but it does surprise me.

I'm interested too! DH and I have just started talking about kiddos and I have been going crazy looking for good names. I have wayyyyy more girl names picked out than boy's. It is hard because I want something that is slightly different but not wacky. I don't like traditional names like John, Paul, Bob, Henry, etc.

So far this is my list of contenders:

Nathaniel
Gage
Mason
Ryder
Chase
Gavin

My DS is Cameron, a family name
My DGS are Mason and Nolan

There seem to be lots of Masons and Camerons these days. Got a birth announcement for an "Ayden Winston" the other day ... there are many Aden, Aidan, Haden kids

My personal favorite is Owen, but we never had any boys.

Some of the less-common boy's names where I teach:
Bix, Marshall, Gavin, Mac, Bren, Turner, Holden, Whit, Trey, George, Tripp, Knox, Talen, Brett, Weston, Park, Gray, Browning, Lex, Madden, Henry, Reid, Davis, Banks, Blake, Blaine, Kelton, Brody, Clayton, Donovan, Silas, Elliott and Dominic

My DS is Zachary. I didn't hear that much when I was pregnant with him but it sure is popular! This one will be a girl but had she been a boy her name would have been Riley Brennan. Other names we liked were Gabriel and Peyton.

We had these names on our list...I didn't want an overly popular name, but I think I may have ended up with one:rotfl2:

Oliver
Elliott
Liam (my favorite name, but sadly DBF didn't care for it too much)
Camden
Evan*our winner
Luke

My son's name is Joseph Mitchell. Joseph was my grandfather's name and is also my Dad's middle name. Mitchell is a family name in DH's family and is also Dh's middle name.

Pretty conventional name - but you'd be surprised to hear how many people say "Joe - there's a name you don't hear much these days..."

I like traditional names for boys.

My favorites are: Wyatt, Jasper (I've like this one since way before the Twilight Days!), Elliot, and Webster.

My sons name is Nolan, I had never heard it used before ( besides Nolan Ryan). Now it seems to be getting more popular.:sad2:
