There is a new baby killer whale born this week-yesterday I think-at Sea World. Usually the babies are born in the stadium pool so wonder how this will effect the Believe Show. Anyone that goes this weekend will you post whether they are doing the show or the limited show they do when a baby has just been born. This one has the same mother as the first killer whale born at SW 20 years ago.

whenwe were at Seaeorld once in 2002, a baby kiler whale was born, we hear about it on the news so the next day we went, and no shows are on.

you can go in to the stadium and sit in the stalls and watch the whales swimming round in the big pool, but you cant get up close and they rope areas off.

We saw the Baby on Tuesday, Sept. 19 ! The Baby was born at 3:22 PM on Sept. 18. Weighing in at 7 ft. and 300 plus pounds--Baby and Mom looked HAPPY while swimming together. The Believe show has been suspended for a while---BUT they had a show dedicated to the Mom and Baby---and showed and explained the birth on the big screen. They proudly announced that she is an excellent MOM and they will not know if it is a Boy or Girl until Mom presents the Baby to the trainer!
What a thrill to see such an amazing sight!!!!!

thats so sweet

OMG how big will this baby be by December? WE'RE GONNA SEE A BABY (maybe toddler?) ORCA! Can't wait.

We were there on Tuesday as well but didn't make it in for the presentation show. They said Believe will be closed for at least 2 weeks. They also closed the sky tower on Tuesday because for some reason they didn't want photographers going up and taking pictures or something like that... not sure!

The whole park was a buzz about the new birth, very sweet.

Can't wait to see this "liitle" one! Seaworld is one of my most favourite things to do while in Florida! :thumbsup2 :sunny:

We're going Oct 2nd. I'd love to see the baby, but would also like to see the Believe show. We live in PA and will not get to SeaWorld often (now that they closed the one in Ohio).

Anyhow, the show schedule for 10-2 shows Believe, wonder if that will change?

We were there on 9/21 and the Believe show was cancelled and a 15 minute "Baby Presentation" was on the schedule, HOWEVER...

Once we got there, they showed us the baby and the video of the birth, then made an announcement that they were able to get the mother and baby to move to a side pool and the next thing we heard was "Ladie & Gentlemen - Believe" and the show started. I haven't seen it before, so I'm not sure if anything was missing, but it was about 1/2 an hour long after the stuff about the baby.

All I can figure is that if Mama & baby want the big pool, then Mama & baby get the big pool, but if they can get them to move then they have the show. So, definitely go to one of the scheduled presentations, you might get lucky like we did. :)

We were there on 9/20 and went back on 9/22. We had a chance to see the new baby and mother. The trainers announced they would try to do the show but it all depended on Mother and child. I think we got about 15 minutes of the show. But it was just great to see the baby. They had cameras in the pool and above the pool for the birth. They showed some of the video it was really neat to see.

UGH! I really wanted to see Believe. I know it's exciting about the baby, but I ahven't been to SW in 12 years. Maybe by Sunday the show will be back?

When we were there last November a baby had been born just 2 days prior to our vist. They did the mom and baby thing. It was neat to see the baby but I hope that by this November the Believe show will be back on.

well, since I was there Oct. 2nd, there was no Believe!! :(
It was nice to see the baby. When I upload my pictures, I'll post one here.

Here's the baby!

Here's one of her swimming to her Mom. It was hard to get one of her on top of the water.

Still no regular show yesterday 10/7. Baby and Katina were swimming in the pool when we went in and then they called them back... it was too funny - baby jumped over top of Mommy!!! It is hard to see the baby above water though! They did show the film of the birth.

They had a short show with the other whales within a couple of the trainers showing off their jumps and of course splashing the crowd.

It was enough so that guests that don't visit frequently get a taste for what they are all about without the "drama" of Believe (like some others I prefered Shamu Rocks!)

I hope they have the Shamu Christmas show this year - it was a very nice story and for that one I did enjoy the "drama' and music!!!

We were at Sea World on 10-1. The schedule and signs posted said that we would not see Believe, only a short 15 minute presentation with mom and baby. There were only 2 show times 1pm and 4:30pm. We went to the 1pm show. They started to show mom and baby and talk about the birth, then...Ladies and Gentlemen...Believe. Now this was my first time at Sea World, not sure if it was the full show. But we saw about a 30 minute show. It was pretty cool. They even brought mom and baby out. While mom performed, baby was with their own traniner towards that back of the pool, away from the major show.

The man at the gate told us that the week prior they tried the Believe show, but the baby stopped feeding. Not sure why we were able to see it.

Guess luck!

wow, I was there the next two days and no Believe. I could have even went on the 1st. I wonder if they just have to see how the baby is doing each day? When I asked tehy said no Believe until further notice.

So I guess Trua isn't the baby anymore...I have never been fortunate enough to see an orca birth live, only on TV. And I missed the news article about it...Thanks!!

Are they making any statements about how long the show will be cancelled for. We will be there 10/28. They wouldn't keep canceling it for that long a time. Would they?
