We are going to WDW in October with a 4 month old. Does anyone have any advice for us? It's going to be a family trip. (Fourteen total - 11 adults and three children) We will all be camping at FW.

Use the babycare pavillions that are located in each of the 4 theme parks for down time, diaper changes, nursing rooms (really fabulous, and so often empty!), and high chairs, as well as picking up a baby care essential that you forget that day (baby food, diapers, wipes, etc.) there is also an area for older siblings to eat, watch a disney movie while you take care of baby, etc. THey also have high chairs too. Take it easy on "fitting everything in", if you do too much, meltdowns are likely, thus really lowereing the quality of your trip. Enjoy your family while you're there. Chip N Dale campfires are great too. Weather in Oct. can still be pretty hot, so keep all well hydrated, cool off in the water, a/c'd areas, and wear sunscreen and hats. so, in other words, use common sense like usual. the only unusual thing I mentioned was the baby care centers...

Use the baby stations in the parks. They are great for feeding, diapering and just plain cooling your baby (and yourself) off. Bring more baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula) than you think you need, because that stuff costs a fortune in the World. I usually bring the largest package of wipes and diapers with me (we usually split our stays on and off property, so I buy this stuff at Wal Mart where it's pretty cheap.

The most important thing to remember is to let the baby dictate what you're doing. A 4 month old is pretty portable, but they still need to nap and eat at regular times. If your baby is cranky you may need to head back to the resort. We found it easiest if we let the little guys lead and we followed. Have a great trip!!

We just returned last week from our trip to WDW with our 5 1/2 month old wee one. The most helpful tip I can give to you is use the baby care centers in the parks!!!!

The baby care centers are great! They are such an added bonus. We used them in every park...we did not go to the water parks with the baby and I don't believe they have the same centers there.

Our first day in MK we found the baby care center right away and mixed up a bottle of formula (powder in bottle - add water and give to baby). There are really nice changing tables in each one...hot and cold water. Private nursing rooms...any type of baby supply you may need is available for purchase. We took advantage of the air conditioning to revive mom and dad and the rocking chairs for some one on one cuddle time with baby. The centers were immaculate. We liked the one in AK the best and the one in MGM the least (but it was still nice just not as nice large and nice as the ones in the other parks).

We also worked our schedule around his...waited for him to wake in the morning and returned each evening when he let us know he had had enough and wasn't going to sleep in the stroller. During the day, however, he napped at will in the stroller. We did not intentionally head back to the hotel for a nap.

If you are really into the rides...RNR; TOT; Splash and Space etc...you can take advantage of the baby swap...we chose not to since neither my husband or I wanted to ride alone. But that too is a nice feature.

We also decided to rent a full sized crib for our visit...7 nights. I contacted A Baby's Best Friend and for about 70.00 we had a very nice crib and bedding waiting for us upon arrival. I think DS slept much better in it than he would have in the pack and play provided by Disney. Disney also has available metal portable cribs...but I knew I wanted a real crib. If you have a little extra in your budget..this may be something for you to consider. I am very happy we did the crib rental.

I wish you good weather and a great trip!

My husband and I are comando type Disney people. We took our daughter on her first Disney trip when she was 5 months old. While I'm certain the baby care centers are fabulous, I never set foot in one of them. I used a baby sling and had the stroller with us at all times. I could nurse my daughter in her sling and still walk through the parks. I am an incredibly modest person so trust me when I say people were clueless that my daughter was nursing. If she fell asleep in the sling, I could still safely get on and off rides with her sound asleep though all of this. If we needed to do a diaper change, I would find an area with limited people around and use the stroller to change her. We would do early entry have lunch at 11:00 and head back to the hotel for an afternoon break. Be sure to pack some detergent for cleaning bottles, toys, pacifiers etc. that the little darling will drop a million times. I opted not to lug a big diaper bag throught he parks. I took a small back pack with the essentials that she would need for the morning and would simply restock it as needed during our afternoon break time. This was nice because I could easily take it and her on a ride with me.
