Thanks for the great pics Memom. I have yet to go to Earl of Sanwich. i don't know if my stomach could handle it. Although I must say I have been taking care of myself and have not had a stomach ache since New Year's Eve. TMI I know...lol
Do you think we could just get one picture of Memom.. just one???
I told you to ask the Genie about the picture! You can use VandyFan's newfound lamp. Maybe he can conjure up one.
Okay, the next time I look decent, I MIGHT consider a picture, but don't hold your breath. That could be a loooong time from now.
Can't you just piece me together from all of the snippets of pictures earlier in the report?
You should try Earl of Sandwich. The sandwiches are very big - plenty to share, and the bread is just delicious.
mandy200587 - Welcome to the craziness that is our trip report. There are some people with TN ties on board, like VandyFan and punkin, so maybe you'll enjoy sharing in the Tennessee "hillbilliness" around here.
We have a bunch of northern buds, too, like declansdad and pooksma from way up in Canada, and a bunch of people all in between. I wonder how many states really are represented by this crew? We need to all meet up at Disney World sometime down the road. However, being a teacher, I'm limited to when I can go. Everyone else was smart enough not to be a teacher, and they can go during more off times, so that may never work.
Okay, on to more pictures.
A common factor in all of our trips is me getting up early and going out for morning picture walks. Jill can sleep really late sometimes. I mean, I've known her to still be in bed at 6:30!!!
Yeah, I mean a.m.
And yeah, I'm crazy.
I'm usually up between 2:30 and 3:30. My alarm is set for 4:20, but it rarely goes off.
Trent worries about me if he wakes up for a 5 a.m. potty break and he doesn't hear any noise. He thinks I'm dead, because he knows I can't still be asleep at that late hour!
"Mom? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just um...Dising." (Not much noise involved in that.)
"Go figure," he says, as he lumbers back off to his bed.
Anyway, these are pictures from my morning walk around All Star Music and then over across the parking lot to All Star Sports.
Here's a daytime picture of the area we were in.
Isn't it just cute?
This is on the other side, going toward Sports.
This is All Star Sports.
We've stayed there twice. It was fine, but I liked Music better. It was cleaner and brighter, in my opinion, and there were not as many groups of teenagers. Nothing against Sports. Just if I had a choice, I'd choose Music. If it meant not getting a room, I'd take Sports any day just to be in Disney World.
This is another early morning critter.
I did a little shopping here. I got Trent an ESPN t-shirt and a travel mug.
The cheerleader costumes weren't his size!
Then it was back over to Music to meet the girlies.
We were going to go to Coronado Springs for breakfast, since Jill had never been over there. It was the last resort on her list, so we needed to get it crossed off. The only one I haven't been to now is Saratoga Springs.
We decided just to get a cab, rather than spend the whole morning maneuvering our way to Coronado Springs.
In just a very few minutes, we were there.
Brooklynn bee-lined for the wawa.
We taught her to say fountain. She comes close. It has two syllables. It's more like "out-ten".
We thought about eating at Pepper Market,
but we weren't really keen on paying the extra fee/tax (whatever it is) to do so, so we just opted for the smaller food area.
This is where we met Maria Consuelita.
Not her real name, but the name we gave her.
Yes, it is very generic. Like calling all Tennessee boys Jim-Bob.
Anyway, we went through and got our little goodies and went to pay.
I got a mini quiche for us to share and a banana bread for myself. Jill got a cinnamon roll, I think.
I got water, as usual.
Jill filled her refillable Year of a Million Dreams mug.
The one that is no longer resort specific.
Good for length of stay in which it is purchased.
And all that.
You know the spiel.
Anyway, when we get up to the register to pay, Jill told Maria Consuelita that she had filled her mug.
Now we know that Jill never should have opened her mouth about filling her mug.
Maria C. said to innocent Jill...in her very best "Oh no you did-ent" voice...
"You need to PAY for that! That mug is no good here."
She had the whole body wiggle thing that went with it, too.
Jill's eyes got wide, and she looked like Disney cops were going to jump out from behind the counter, put her in stripes, and carry her away.
She told Maria C. she didn't know that they had a different mug policy, and she didn't want to purchase a drink. She said she guessed she'd just have to pour it out.
And she did. So either way, whether it went down Jill's guzzle pipe or down the Disney drain pipe, it was a loss for Coronado Springs.
Maybe they had a sign up somewhere indicating that other mugs were no good, but we didn't look for one we went in, obviously, and we didn't see one after Jill got pounced on. If we missed it, we're sorry.
Jill does NOT have fond memories of her first trip to her last resort.
Even now, when I mention CS, she gets a little jumpy.
Anyway, we managed to pay Maria C. and slink quietly out of the store. We slithered down to the waterfront to eat.
Brooklynn found ducks, of course.
After we ate, we roamed the gift shop.
I'm sorry these are so fuzzy, because they are very cute and colorful, and I wish you could see them better. They aren't cheap, however.
Next up - Epcot. See you soon.
