Good mornin' from home Nanners and happy 3 day weekend!

Today's a snow day (we build them in so we don't have to extend the year if we cancel) and it is CHILLY!!!

I've got to secure a date for my dad's political golf tournament and cram for SWW. I'm helping my childhood friend plan their first family trip (she's not been since 1998) and is totally overwhelmed. I've been glued to Twitter trying to keep up with everything!

Because I don't have enough drama going on in my own life, I have developed a conspiracy theory about the new tenant in the building...... She's sneaking in a 3rd kid and a dude. Into a one. bedroom. apartment.... DH was talking to the landlord about something else entirely last weekend, and he brought up that it had been rented to a single mom with twins. Only there's been a whole lot more than those three coming and going all week! Honestly, how do people think this stuff up??!

Conspiracy theory aside, she's just a loony......she's blocked off the top part of the driveway with a row of chairs (so anyone needing to actually use the driveway has to walk way around). Yeah, like that's gonna last.

I am up in Virginia this weekend for a friend's wedding. We plan to tour DC tomorrow before flying out. I will be very thankful for my iPhone today because the wedding is at 4:30 but DH is in the wedding and has to be at the church by 1:30 to get ready. That's almost 3 hours of me sitting and waiting. I also have my kindle and a book, but I don't think it would look good to be reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" in the church.

Hey!

Quick check-in.....BEAUTIFUL day here! About 80*, dry, and not a cloud in the sky. I'm enjoying a relaxing Saturday. DH and I went with DS10 this morning to his teacher's multi-family yard sale; I scored a Shark cyclonic vacuum for $10, and a Coach handbag for $5!!! I'm about to try out the vacuum.....I've been waiting for the cats to not be napping.

I also just finished sewing a curtain for our back door, and do believe I'll go read on the deck for a while (I'm home alone!!).

Meat on the grill for dinner tonight! Woot!!

What a carpy day.

So, I log in to balance my checking account. Something I do every day.

There's a charge for $100ish that I did not make.

I call the 800 number, they cancel my debit card. Arrange for a new one. I alert fraud dept.

Then, I text my friend, "Hey, what's your mom's number?" Her mom works at my bank. About 2 time zones away, but same difference.

A couple of hours later and an interesting phone conversation with my friend's mom, and I now have what looks like a million and one bank accounts when I log in. There's one account for my deposits that is an account with no debit card attached. One account is only for debit card usage and the only way to fund it is to go online or to a branch to fund it. It cannot overdraft my deposit account. Each account has a savings account attached. Only one has money in it, but it's frozen, but since it's where my deposit goes, we want to leave it open until I get the first successful deposit to my new account. My accounts are all now with a branch across the country, because I had her open my accounts for me.

Thank goodness I paid the balance on my credit card this week, so I have that to use while I get all of this mess sorted.

And I mean, it's a mess. But at least I trust who looks at my accounts. Every time I've had a question, I've called half way across the country for an answer and she's fixed everything for almost a year. It's about time I gave her the business as well.

Yeah....last night she had visitors (fine, we're all entitled to that) but one of them came on a Harley and thought he'd start it up and rev the engine twice between 10 and 11pm...... Keep in mind the parking area is right outside our bedroom. I had already gone to bed.

DH's grandma was given last rights last night and we are just waiting for the call. She has battled adult leukemia for the last couple years and has some kind of infection that is shutting down her kidneys.

Just coming in because I had something great happen today.

There's a senior at our school. I've kind of adopted him as a prodigal son. He needed to pass the SC HSAP (Exit Exam) or her would not graduate. I've known him since he was 9. This week, he got a basketball scholarship to two different colleges, but without that HSAP, it meant nothing.

Today, he was called to the main office. Wouldn't go. Comes to me, "Miss Amanda, I'm scared. Go with me." So I (5'2" takes him 6'7") to the office.

He passed.

I could do back flips, but instead, I've been crying of happiness all day.

All those extra hours of tutoring paid off.

Thanks girls.

It's been a long run and she's still fighting with everything she has left. Family is filtering in and out and DH's uncle will finally get here late Tuesday. He said his goodbyes when he was here last summer. He's career Air Force so he had to sew up some loose ends before he can come for an extended leave.
