Weather's been crazy here, too. Supposed to be 45* tomorrow!! Not that I'm complaining... There is no snow cover whatsoever. But, according to those who were here, last year was a whopper in terms of cold and snow, so I guess this is just the next cycle.

Mean Queen -- I'd like to be sitting by your pool right about now. Might be cold for you but it's gotta beat here! Hey, hopefully we can do "our" coffee when I'm down in June!!

Hi girls!

I actually had a week off of extra work. Kinda glad because our first "week" back (Wed-Fri) KICKED MY BUTT!

Took the family to the boy's basketball game. I didn't realize we were playing a team that we beat by 1 point last year... at their home... and there was all kinds of extra physical activity on the court. Tonight we blew the pants off of them.






































Sorry... that's unsportsmanlilke of me... but I digress...

DS has an Angry Bird birthday party tomorrow then my cousin is FINALLY getting our carseats for their baby. They've been ready for a couple of months now. I started getting antsy because my Touring Plans friends (in our FB group) started a book club and are working on the "Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. The big goal for me for the month is to declutter. It's a really interesting way to look at how I'm living my life and what I can do to make myself happier based on the things that I want to change about myselft. It's an interesting take on how to change myself for the better.

Speaking of other really interesting books, when I was in WDW with my buddy and her mom, mom sent me home with an autobiography in Carol Burnett called "This Time Together". I told her I didn't have a lot of time to read and she went on about how perfect it was for busy people because it's literally a book of short anecdotes so you can stop and start and not get lost. I thought I'd give it a try because I love Miss Hannigan! MB was right... I was a great read and it was easy to get through. Hell, I read half of it on the way home. When I got back, I didn't get a chance to read it for a while and was able to pick it up again with no problem. I finished it last night and it was wonderful! She wrote it as a memoir to her grandkids about her life in showbusiness. It was witty, fun, and sad at times, but the way that she wrote it, it was like getting a letter from home. So personal! If you like Carol, pick it up if you can. She's an amazing woman who made some brilliant decisions in her life. I love her Cary Grant story!

PS - just a warning now... I will be dropping off the face of the Earth again next week. The paper is sending me out 3 days next week, I've got a PTO meeting, and a kick off meeting for my dad's political campaign. I think I have Monday off and that's it.

I am really excited about one of my assignments next week. I get to cover a gymnastics meet for the first time ever. Asked my SIL for the ins and outs of meets and she said the team I'm covering is really good so I should have lots of great things to cover!

...it is with a heavy heart that I announce that a dear colleague of mine has just lost her 20-y-o DS yesterday when she was unsuccessful at waking him...needless-to-say, she has suffered much heartache in her life. Her first DH, who was her [now] deceased DS's dad, passed years ago, from a heart attack, when her DH was a young child. In later years, she remarried and her 2nd DH succumbed to MS.....now this....
