Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

The only places to ever have Good Friday off are the Catholic schools, and I'm not sure how many of them even do that anymore. Easter Monday isn't a thing here, apparently. :confused3 Matter of fact, I can't think of a single holiday over here where we get a FOUR day weekend!! There are some 3-days, but that's it!

....I am off today, but we have our Spring Break all next week too....no need to applaud since I will be doing a LOT of school work...

Morning everyone,
Even though I didn't work Saturday, I don't feel like I ever stopped going to work, so today is just another in a long line of work days for me!! This coming weekend will be the first one that I've had no work whatsoever, since Christmas!!! I worked about six hours yesterday at the ski area. Last day. It was dead. Then I came home and took a nap from sheer exhaustion.

Hi y'all! We're on Spring Break, mainly because it's Master's Week. I'm thankful that I work from home, so I don't have to be out in the craziness. So many of the locals are on vacation elsewhere that my workload is very light this week. Most of my regular meetings are cancelled or rescheduled for next week. Woohoo!

Kimmar, you're not supposed to work on Spring Break!

@LegoMom3, hugs! I know the feeling. I hope you get a break soon.

 Evening everyone.

LegoMom - I hope you get a break sometime!

YoYoA - glad to see you posting!

Wow! I just assumed that everyone would have a 4-day weekend this weekend.

In Canada, everyone gets Good Friday off, all stores are closed on Sunday, and if you're lucky (note: if you're a government {municipal, provincial, and federal} employee or a kid) you get Monday off.

I was sick the entire weekend. Ridiculous. :(

All of the schools in our area and many employees of the larger companies have Good Friday off.

This week is Master's Week, so many of the locals take that week off, grab any kids, friends and assorted relatives, and take off to anywhere else. We're stuck here this year, but usually we do join the mass exodus out of the area on the Friday before Master's Week. All of the area schools are on Spring Break this week, so it makes it easy for families to get out of town. This year, the week after Easter just happens to coincide with Spring Break and Master's Week. It doesn't always happen.

Many people around here rent out their houses for the week, and that pays for their vacations. DH doesn't want strangers in our house, so we don't rent out ours.

I've never understood bosses who expect you to work on your vacation time.

Or is Spring Break not considered vacation for teachers at your school? If that's the case, you need to move here. There's a house for sale down the street.

....I've been working all week long on my computer, revamping all my assessments [I have about 18 altogether and about 11 are completed] so that they conform to what we are supposed to have them look like [they must include the Standards that each test is assessing, and differentiated types of questions, including "PARCC-type" open-ended questions, and so on]. What makes this so difficult is that I don't have a textbook, so I cannot use a 'test generator' program [on DVD] that accompanies each textbook, like the other teachers do. Instead, I must find my own resources. Unfortunately, most of them cannot be copied and pasted, so it's been quite an undertaking....

....plus, I have been working on my SGO's, which is a teacher data-collecting [hogwash, if you ask me] instrument, which gets used against us as a part of our valuation. First, I have to make a spreadsheet with each of the students. Once that is completed, I have to take that data and put it on another form [called the SGO]. Good thing that I am a mathematics teacher, because I'd be lost.....and tell me if this is fair. All the other persons in the math dept. hve to submit 2 of them at the end of the school year, but I have to submit 4....
