Does anybody have a Babies 'R Us coupon that they are not using. I thought I saved mine last one that I got in the mail, but I cannot find it now. We are ready to make a BIG (Britax carseat) purchase and even a 10% coupon would be helpful.

PM me and I'll give you my address!!

Thanks!!

Becki

I don't have a code or coupon but you can actully find britax seat on sale for much cheaper what kinda seat is it you are looking for. usally albabee has good deals, and many other, depeding on the kind you are looking for. BEST resource for car seat info is www.car-seat.org :)

Okay...I tried searching for albabee and couldn't find anything. I also have been on the car-safety website in the past trying to reseach the Britax line. I looked again there tonight to find deals, but couldn't locate any....can you give me more information?

Also, hello again Becky!!

Ok, lets see, are you looking for convertibles ones that go up to 65lbs (rfing to 33lbs)? are the regent that goes up to 80lbs (ffing only)? or the boosters that are for kids only 4 (much preferably 5 or 6) and up that are up to 5'0 tall (no weight limit).... http://www.specialtybaby.com/britax.html was the site i was talking about albee (sorry sp in the first post LOL)... what size is the child who you are buying the seat for???
The britax regents are really hard to find right now b/c of the resent wide spread internet video about a child that died in an auto accident due to being in a booster vs a 5 pt and the seat belt failed, awful RIP Kyle. anyways, the video mentioned the 5pt regent that can restrain a child to 80lbs would be so much better then a booster so they are sold out everywhere right now...

We are looking for our DS (9 mo.). He weighs about 21lbs and is pretty long for his age. I think we liked the Marathon the best b/c it is a convertible and will go to 65lbs (right?). We will need one for my van, and my DH's truck. I don't think we'll need one for DH's police car. I think he will just take the one out of his truck if he needs it for the squad car. He hardley ever transports the kids in the police car - safety reasons, etc.

I also found a Britax Husky on craigslist. It is used....what are your thoughts on that?

We'll keep looking, but it will need to be soon b/c Carson is getting too big for his current car seat.

TIA!

Becki

I personally wouldn't buy a used car seat as you really don't know what it's been through, but that's just me. I know what you mean though as they are expensive. We just bought three of them, 2 Marathons and one roundabout...ouch.

If a carseat has been in an accident AT ALL, even low speed, you are supposed to get new ones. I would be very scared to buy a used seat, just in case. The money saved is not worth the price you could pay in the future. JMHO! I know many people sell coupons on ebay. You might could find one there for a few dollars, and still save money. Another option is to check the Babies R Us website. Sometimes they have a printable coupon. (Been a long time since I tried that, but worth a shot!) Good luck!

We were in an accident last week-rear ended by a driver going way too fast on the ice, which we almost never get in Seattle. My insurance company is not giving me a straight answer about replacing the seats...they said they won't (which they have to by state law), then they would with depreciation b/c the seats are 2 years old (which I told them no way, full replacement b/c I wasn't planning on replacing the seats anytime soon since my dds are well within the limits, and finally that they would replace the original seats with the same model. To make a long story short, there are several places online where you can find discounted patterns, free shipping, and frequently tax free. I found the Marathon for as low as $209/free ship/no tax. Try www.shopping.com; it will search for the lowest prices. Also, take a look at ebay. There are lots of new seats there-especially with the discontinued patterns if you aren't picky about the color.

So that is why I cannot find a Regent! I thought about getting one for my almost 5 year old, but I can't wait since her seat is not useable anymore. Another Marathon for her or maybe a Parkway.

Did you know Britax offers an exchange program for car seats that have been in accidents? I don't know if yours would qualify, but here's the info.

Crashed Restraint Exchange Form.pdf

If your Britax Child Safety, Inc. child restraint was involved in a severe crash, you could be eligible for consideration to have it exchanged for a new one of the same or similar design. For details, please read the following completely. We will determine if your restraint is eligible for exchange under our policy. Basic guidelines include but are not limited to the following:

1. Only Britax child restraints that were occupied at the time of the crash are eligible for exchange. A restraint with no occupant is not eligible for the exchange.

2. Only restraints sold by Britax Child Safety, Inc. are eligible for the exchange program. Restraints from other manufacturers, including other Britax sister companies in other countries, are not eligible. Restraints manufactured by Britax Child Safety, Inc. and sold by Mercedes-Benz or Porsche are not eligible.

3. The restraint must have experienced a severe crash in the USA. A severe crash is one that damaged the vehicle’s structural frame.

4. The crash occurred within the previous 60 days.

5. The crashed restraint is available for return and exchange.

6. BEFORE we issue a return authorization to a consumer for a crashed restraint, Britax Consumer Quality Services must first receive and review all required documentation. Note: Restraints returned to us without our prior authorization will be scrapped.

7. You must be prepared to provide the following:

a. Clear photos of the crashed vehicle BEFORE it was repaired.

b. The police report and the consumer’s written description of the crash.

c. The restraint’s manufacturing date, batch, serial and model numbers from the affected restraint. (See the Crashed Restraint Form at the top of this page)

This voluntary exchange program is being conducted at the sole discretion of Britax Child Safety, Inc. and does not represent or suggest that every request will result in exchange. Upon review of the crash circumstances and documentation, we will determine if an exchange is warranted based on our internal criteria. There is no state or federal regulation that requires Britax to replace a crashed child restraint, however, California state law requires the respective insurance company to replace their insured’s crashed restraint.

If approved, we will issue a Return Authorization number for the crashed restraint to be sent to us at the consumer’s expense. The Return Authorization number MUST be visible on the outside of the box or it will be rejected. COD’s not accepted. We are not responsible for stolen, lost, or misdirected returns. If accepted by us, we will send, at our expense, an exchange restraint in the color, style, and features of our choice and ship it back to the consumer per our regular freight carrier/method. DON'T BUY a USED Car seat! :) NO NO NO!

Ok if you are looking for marathon then check out albee, they have about the best prices, also car seat expire after 6 years another reason to not buy a used seat...

another note, does your dh's police cruiser have a gard in it? like a barier? if so DO NOT put ANY of your kids in it!!! It's and EXTREAM danger even to a rfing child. my dh actully traded out for one with our a gaurd so that he could transport the kids if need be, since it's used as his person car as well...

Thanks for the info! That is a very cool program. Unfortunately, we wouldn't qualify. I don't have any pictures of the car pre-crash and no police report. The weather was so bad that the police said they wouldn't come unless it was a severe injury accident! I was not very happy about that. My dh called the insurance and suggested they stop the runaround and direct us to whomever is responsible for car seat replacement unless they wanted to talk to our attorney. We finally have a contact, so hopefully it will be resolved soon.
