Our cruise is setup for April 2006 and it is paid in full. Two weeks ago I found I was pregnant and my baby is due to come into this world on December 21, 2005. Will I be able to take my baby on the cruise? The cruise is a 3 night/4 day. If I cannot go, can I just send my mother in law to help my husband with our other children? I haven't contacted my agent yet but I want to know what everyone else thinks before I do.

Congrats!

I believe the cut off is 12 weeks. So, as long as your baby is born in December and you cruise in April, you should be fine.

You will have to add the baby to the cruise and pay port taxes on him or her. Do you guys have two rooms already?

Have fun!

Oh, I'm sorry. You were serious!

No. You can get some priceless pictures of the baby sleeping peacefully on the beach on Castaway Cay.

LOL! Sadly enough I was serious about sending her in my place. That would be a neat picture. Thanks for sharing.

I cruised with a 6 month old last summer and I say.... TAKE THE BABY!!!

Take the baby ~ she / he will be fine and you will enjoy your vacation with the family. I saw many young babies onboard our 4 day Wonder!.

Haven't cruised--but have "dreamed" of cruising. On one of many phone calls to DCL for hypotheticals....they suggested as soon as you know about a baby--ADD the baby. The closer to the sailing date, you might have problems. They will put a placeholder for baby--there is no deposit for baby, so no cost to you. And when baby is born, you can call back and add all the details. What I was told from DCL--no baby on board and no sailings on deck (YET!)--so I yield to the experts.

While I have never cruised with a baby, my first born was traveling to Australia when he was a mere 7 weeks old and had his first Disney trip under his belt by 7 months :earsboy: . So, I am going to give you my opinion:

Although all children are different, I think that you have a valuable resource in being able to think about how your others kids handled themselves at 4-4.5 months. My two for instance would go anywhere and do anything at that age as long as they were either in a car seat or someone's arms. Put them down and the screaming began. I have a friend who also has two boys and they were just about crawling by 5 months and ALWAYS wanted to be on the floor learning their new skill and once cooped up they were not happy campers. Both of our familes travel quite a bit and I must say that my two were better travelers at 4-5 months than hers. The flip side was I got next to nothing done at home on a daily basis since mine wanted to be held all the time (not the worst thing in the world by far :) )
So, use your gut instinct, don't be afraid to change your mind if your gut instinct changes and most importantly, have a back up plan (MIL for instance) if you decide to go on the cruise with your little one.

It's good to know that I will be going on that cruise afterall! Thank you so much!

P.S. Your pictures are beautiful!

Yes, my 6 month old met jweiss's 6 month old (born a day apart) on the Magic and had a great time together.

Sarah made last years 7 day eastern cruise unforgetable. Leaving her at home would have been a HUGE mistake.

I am with jweiss...TAKE THE BABY! :earboy2:

We added our baby to the cruise reservation. It just went in as Mr. TBD Smith. After he was born we called in and gave them his real name. I would add it now just to be sure. Our's will be 5 months old barely when he goes. Will let you know if it is a success. I hope so.

We sailed with out then 4 month old almost 2 years ago. She did great! I didn't get to see the shows, but I enjoyed them on the tv in my room! We're taking her again in November! :cheer2:

DD was 5 months old when we went on our 3-night cruise. She was a very high-maintenance baby (her nicknames are "Stitch" and "Scream-a-pillar  ) but she did great! Here's our beach nap photo DD on CC

BTW, I highly recommend a MayaWrap type sling. We bought ours just before the cruise, and it was very useful!

Congratulations on the new addition!

Will the room you have paid for accomodate another person? Babies on the cruise are not like babies in the resorts. Do you have connecting rooms right now, or a suite? Call DCL to make sure at least one of your rooms is for Quad occupancy if you already have 3 in each room. I know no category 7 rooms will hold 4.

They already have six in their family so I think that they have booked two staterooms already.

 We just booked our 3 days prior at Coranado Springs! We plan to spend one day at the hotel as a family playing by the pool and marina etc. Day 2 my DH plans to take 5 yr old DD to the Magic Kingdom. I would like to take the our baby and go too but I think that being 4 months old and being in the hot July heat at an amusement park wouldn't be very fair to the baby. Any thoughts? Hopefully I can get in some relaxing time at the resort with DS. Once on the boat I think DS will do well. We also booked Flounders for 3 diff occasions via the new online tool. What do you think?
