Babies on Board...

BTW...Congratulations and the best of luck with baby #5. Our baby girl (7 months) was a total surprise (our boys were 10 and 9 when she arrived!) and I'm sure you will hear this a LOT, but she is absolutely the joy of our lives.

It has taken some time to adjust (it had been a long time since I packed a diaper bag ;) ), but it has been the most wonderful 'surprise' of my life :cloud9:

Thank you so much! Yep, what a surprise! LOL! I'm very excited about having another baby. I'm also happy that I'll be able to take my bundle of joy with us. I did book two Cat 6 cabins with windows and in my request I put that I wanted the cabins to be toward the front of the ship. I'm sure taking a stroller on board will not be a problem right?

Mark is so happy about this new addition and he said he's looking forward to sleeping with his new baby on the beach.

I don't have kids and I've never been on a Disney cruise, but I just read a trip report from a woman who cruised with her 4 month old. Read it here Hope it helps!

Thanks for recommending me to read that trip report Melissa.

It looks like Jennifer requested a Pack 'N Play from Guest Services when she arrived on the first day. (whew-I won't have to take one afterall). Did she luck up in getting that or is that something we request before hand? It's not as easy to call our TA, everything is done with email and therefore I have to wait for answer :confused3 . I'm asking here on the Cruise Board. :)

You can request the pack & play prior on your reservation now. Your stateroom host can also get you a diaper genie & whatever else you may need. You can get a big graco stroller onboard with a 100 deposit to your room but they have a basket underneath, recline, and have the sun cover. The wheels are big so it is easier to move around on sand or grass when you are in port. I took a stroller with us to help carry on our extra bags but my kids were 3 & 5 on our first cruise. It looks like you have a few older helpers and may not need that. :)

Hi guys Was Very impressssed with the thread on the other board but have not Read in sometime.. Is This What you decided to do ?
or is this in addition to The Wdw / Beach club trip you had Been Planning ?

Peter

Are the strollers hard to get? Do you need to reserve that ahead of time...or worse...rush somewhere to reserve one onboard ? ;) I think that would be awesome for excursions...IF we don't bring our backpack carrier...

Aren't these boards a lifesaver?! :cheer2:

You can just go to GS on the first day & get one. We waited until Tuesday morning before going into GC & didn't have a problem getting one.

Hygiene99, the Cruise I purchased is a separate trip (April 2006) and the WDW trip is set for 10/29-11/05 of this year. I also have plans on visiting WDW for another 7 nights in May 2006. I have a feeling my children is going love that place and will want to return again.

I went to the Disney Cruise website and everything seems to be working. I've been reading more than anything. I didn't get to the part where I select anything special. I'm happy you guys told me about it. Thanks!

I just wanted to say congratulations! My due date for my son was 12/23 and he arrived 10 days early on the 13th. We took him when he was 9 months old - not the greatest experience, but that's just our story. We're hoping to make up for it this September!

I hope you have a great pregnancy!

Echoing thanks for the trip report. Her baby is the same age ours will be when we go at the end of this month. This board rocks.

Our youngest was just over 12 weeks when we all cruised the first time. I think it is much easier when they are younger. he was breastfed and we used a sling so it was very simple. When we cruised again he was 8 months and we used an umbrella stroller because it was easier to maneuver. He would even take naps just sitting up in it throughout the day. We did rent one of the biggy strollers on board though when we got off the ship. Was easy. You'll have a great time!! Were your other babies born on time? We had to adjust our cruise a few weeks as soon as we found out about the pregnancy. wanted to be absolutely sure if baby was born late like my others that he would be 12 weeks. They are VERY strict about that. Have Fun!!!

Well, this pregnancy is awful. I never had morning sickness or emotional downfalls when I was pregnant with the others. I get morning sickness a lot, I feel nauseous all the time, I cry and I feel tired. All my kids were on time, but who's to say that this one will be. All I can do is pray. LOL.

Also, I read another thread about passports. I never travelled out the country with a baby before. All I need to do is bring the baby's birth certificate on the cruise, right? My other kids already have Passports.

Congratulations! Just wanted to let you know that last November my husband & I went on our first Disney cruise (7 day Magic) and we brought our 4 month old son along. It was great. We all had a great time, very relaxing and Disney made it so easy. We were able to bring the stroller right to the table and he slept through many meals. We also brought him into the pool and to the movies (haven't been to one since). Everything is so family friendly. No one had a problem with him. Flounder's Reef is terrific, we left him there while we had brunch at Palo's and dinner another night at Palo's (try it if you get a change - so good) and they took great care of him. Brought powder formula and baby food. It was much easier than we anticipated and a very relaxing vacation. We even stayed on board in two ports and had the whole ship to ourselves. We are planning another one next May for our tenth anniversary. Disney is also the only line with any babysitting services for children under 3.

Don't hesitate to go and have fun.

I have been enjoying your planning for the WDW trip also.
