So when my family was down there in december, we had heard about people getting engaged and married and even deaths on Disney property. So the question arose, have many babies been born on property?

This question has bugged my mom and I for months now and I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be great!

Brer Rabbit was born and raised in the Brier Patch. Does that count?

Likely very few. I'd expect that most mothers going into labor on Disney property would be rushed to the hospital in Celebration.

That isn't to say that no babies have ever been born on Disney property. After all, they have to get the children in "it's a small world" from somewhere! ;)

haha I will pass that along to my mom.

I do know they rush people off property at close to lightspeed when there is a medical emergency. Now I know that at least one baby has been born (mind you it is a cute giraffe and a cute zebra) on property.

I remember hearing about a baby being born in a bathroom at Magic Kingdom quite a few years ago (1997). It was a baby girl and she was left abandoned. I don't know if her mother was ever found. I think she was given the name Jasmine (after Princess Jasmine).

P.S. I found a link to the story....

Well, Celebration used to be Disney property so that sorta counts!

am i way off on this? but I believe disney used to give lifetime passes to babies born on site. but if that's right, it's no longer done

I highly, highly doubt it...that would bring a rash of heavily pregnant women all trying to pop the kid there!

It should be noted that no one ever officially died in a Disney Theme Park. At WDW, they are transported to Celebration Hospital where they are pronounced dead. A small distinction but apparently important to the Disney.

**Dang she beat me to it**

Don't you read Snopes? :) People have been pronounced dead at the scene.

The disney section is pretty interesting.

Very interesting thread topic. I never thought about this. Certainly much happier than the "no one ever dies at Disney" conversation!

I liked the two links also! :thumbsup2

Did a guy really commit suicide in EPCOT??

Probably been a few conceived there:love: :love2: :drinking1

LOL...reminds me of the Disney Cruise commercial a few years ago when a little girl was telling everyone on an elevator about her Disney Cruise trip, even though it was a year ago. Then she introduces her baby brother and says "Mommy calls him our little souvenir!"

Wow I didn't realize that happened ten years ago - the mom was found and the mom's sister I believe took guardianship of the child. I think about it everytime I use that particular restroom at MK.

LOL When I was 3, my parents left my 3 month old brother home and took me to WDW. After what must have been a romantic stay at Fort Wilderness...we also brought home our own little souvenir also named Joey like in the commercial. :rotfl: I even have the red hair like the girl! LOL My brothers ended up being only 11 months apart and I didn't get another Disney trip until 1991 when I was 16!! :sad2:

Hmmm I'll be 40wks this weekend...I'm already planning a natural birth not far from Disney....all that walking at Epcot is sure to help. :rotfl:
