I will be bringing my three and half year old and one year old sons to Disney at the end of August and expect that it will be HOT!

Lots of folks have suggested that I bring them to the water play areas -- like Donald's Boat and the fountain area at Epcot.

How would you recommend dealing with bathing suits, etc.? Do you generally bring a suit to change your child into? How about my one year old -- will I need to bring a bathing suit so that he can enjoy this area, too?:)

TIA!

For the older one, let him just wear his swim trunks all day; that's what mine always does at theme parks.

For the toddler you would probably want to bring a swim diaper and a pr. of trunks in a plastic bag, so that you can change him before he plays and change him back to a real diaper afterward.

The more important issue is shoes: buy them both water sandals to wear to the parks (the neoprene kind) or Crocs, so that they can get their shoes as wet as they want to any time they want to. Having to carry and deal with wet conventional shoes at a theme park is a PITA.

Here's a tip to make theme park water play easier on you: go buy a couple of microfiber swimmer's chamois towels from someplace like BB&B or a sporting goods store. These are small super-absorbent quick-drying towels that are easy to keep in your daybag and will let you dry them off easily. Then pin the towels together and leave them on your stroller; they will be dry by the time you come back from the next ride.
