BA to Tampa

Anyone flown this route?

Looking into Fly-drives for our trip to Fort Myers next year and as much as I really didn't like Miami airport, it's got to be the closest. However, thought I'd check out this route.

Virgin flights seem to be booked already , both for May and October next year, so any other suggestions (scheduled airlines) most appreciated. Mind you, I've only tried through Virgin Holidays, so perhaps direct . . . but then I won't get 10% FVC discount

Yes, we (family of 4) did this route a couple of years ago. No problems at all. Tampa airport is smaller than Orlando so there were fewer facilities but car hire etc. was in the airport.

Tampa is quite a way from Fort Myers so you might also want to consider the Fort Myers international airport. No direct flights from the UK but if you don't mind changing there are several options available and you might save some cash too.

We've just returned from 2 weeks on Marco Island (about 50 miles from Fort Myers). Flew to Miami airport and had a 2.5 hour drive to/from resort. You're quite right to want to avoid both the airport and the drive!

They operate the new 777 to Tampa, it is a nice flight, nice airport and it will take you a little over 2 hours down to Fort Myers depending on traffic. All seats on this flight have seat back tv's, the airport is easy to navigate.
