We are flying with BA on 22nd October - previously with Virgin we used the middle 4 seats for our Family of 4. I am wondering that as the BA flight we are using has a 3-3-3 seat format how do people recommend sitting - 2 in front and 2 behind by windows or as 3 together with one the other side of the aisle.

I know it sounds silly as it is only the flight - but I hate to think of one of us being separated and disjointed from the rest of the family!

Anyone out there able to reassure me on this one as I lie awake worrying that DH, DD & DS will all be snug together in a block of three and I will be across the aisle on my own.

How do other families accommodate the odd seat layouts when it does not match your family size.

There are 5 of us, so we are always separated. We have tried various combos. In your scenario I think 3 from the window and 1 across the aisle would work best, as you and DH will both have aisle seats - and if you are unhappy you can always swap with him. On our Easter trip, on JetBlue, we have the 3 kids together, with me across the aisle, and DW behind the kid in the aisle seat because she gets claustrophobic (panic attacks) so prefers an aisle seat and can stop our DD reclining her seat into her. I prefer aisle seats too, so am sitting in the same row as the kids so I can keep an eye on them.

I think 3 next to the window and 1 across the aisle is best then you can all talk to eachother without turning around and the 3 sitting together can spread out and use the whole row.
