BA drops FLL route from 09 Sept 19

I’ve just had the following response from BA twitter feed:

“Hi there, unfortunately we are not travelling to Fort Lauderdale from 09 September. This is due to commercial reasons.
However, we are still travelling to Miami, Tampa and Orlando “

As Norwiegen have pulied out to concentrate on Miami and the loads were low, hardly surprising.

If you’re booked after the 9th sept, then get onto BA to be re routed

Were they receiving cheap landing fees or Other incentives before? Often the reason Ryanair move routes around. You’d have thought if not with Norwegian moving on the demand would suffice for BA.

I personally think they only put the route on to thwart Norwiegen (like the old Freddie Laker days) now Norwiegen have moved to Miami, they can cut the loss leader.

That’s a real shame as they provide decent service for a budget airline. Not flown long haul with them but have in Europe.
