We are a family of 5 with three young ones (2, 4, 6 at time of sailing). We have done two 4d cruises on the Dream and the second was concierge. The perk of concierge to us was getting the cabana at CC. We splurged on concierge because it was January and not summer prices.

We'd like to experience a new ship, but also love CC and with a b2b (and hopefully concierge) we could get two cabana days. With our kids being young, we have always stayed on the ship in Nassau and don't really plan to do excursions on other islands until the kids are older, no one needs a nap. etc.

In our situation, would you go for the b2b and go for the two days at CC or vote for trying a new ship? Does anyone have experience with a b2b concierge and being able to get the cabana both times?

Thanks!

While I think Castaway Cay is really nice, two visits on one cruise doesn't really tip the scales for a 3/4 night B2B.

The turn around day, IMO, is just a waste. You still have to get up at O-dark-thirty, dress, get off the ship, wait, check in again, and deal with the first day madness again. Also, the repetitive menus/shows in a short time doesn't hold much attraction for me.

Much prefer the 7 night cruises as you really get to know the CMs better, and most people onboard are not caught up in the "MUST. GET. THIS. DONE." attitude. More laid back. Different shows, menus, activities.

For me, both options are comparable.

The only port we care about is CC so getting there twice is a huge plus. I enjoy having the same menus and shows so we can see the shows once and do other things at that time too and I also enjoy all menus while still getting to Palo one night. I feel B2Bs are more laid back because I know if I miss something I'll have a 2nd chance. Being Platinum we can get dinner complimentary on 1 cruise and brunch on the other, so 2 Palo meals free! I don't feel the turnaround day is wasted. I look at it as a sea day in which I would just be sitting by the pool anyway, so I can do this with no problem finding a chair. I also like to have an embarkation day when I'm not waiting on my room, waiting on my luggage, trying to unpack, etc... And of course nothing beats not having to pack up when everyone else is putting out their luggage on the last night.

The 7 night of course has more menus, shows, and nighttime events which is nice too. I wouldnt choose B2Bs over a 7 night every time we cruise, but we have found it to be an enjoyable experience and CC twice is huge to us.

You could, but will turnaround day be a problem for your kids? If not, and since you enjoy CC so much, why not do it. That said, the Fantasy is a nice ship and being away for 7 days is nice, too.

I've always thought it would be fun to do something for that time in Port Canaveral, like rent a car and spend a few hours at Cape Canaveral or maybe go into Orlando for shopping? Something different. But with your littles, I don't know if that would be feasible. You could go to the beach at Cocoa Beach... or... just get back on the ship. :D
