I know how B2Bs work at PC, but anyone who has done one in San Diego that would like to share their experience? What time did you debark from 1st and embark for 2nd?

We just booked 10/1 and 10/5/17 Mexico cruises and are in the same stateroom for each leg. Would we be able to do laundry that morning?

Thanks all

I did a B2B from San Diego several years ago. After the first cruise the passengers remaining for the 2nd cruise where asked to wait in Cadillac Lounge while the rest of the passengers disembarked. When customs was clear we where escorted off the ship to go through customs and check back in. Once everyone was checked in (which took about 15-minutes) we where immediately escorted back on the ship and told not to go to your staterooms (the crew was busy cleaning staterooms and they hallways where busy and piles of sheets everywhere) but stay on the pool deck instead. Sorry I don't have specific times because it all depends on how quickly the passengers get off the ship and go through customs. As far as doing laundry if you get up early you can possibly get laundry done depending on how much you have. Enjoy your upcoming cruise.

You will receive back to back instructions the last night at sea. I would also remind the stateroom host. When we did B2B out of Port Canaveral (we had to change rooms 2 doors down) our host made our room a priority so we could get in and unpack again. So check with your host.

We did not do laundry that morning on the ship, though there are threads for people who have. I would personally put a note on the washing machines i was using with what stateroom I am in, that I am doing a B2B and also include your cell phone number. This way no one could think that the clothes are forgotten or abandoned!

On a B2B, when we get back on the ship, we head to the cove cafe or to outlook, they are open. Most everything else is still closed.

Thank you so much, this is perfect information.

I have heard differing reports on the ability to do laundry the morning of the disembarkation. Some report doing it, but most others have found that the machines do not work since your onboard account has been finalized and closed, thus there is no way to charge for the laundry. Even though on a back-to-back, the two cruises are treated as two separate sailings for KTTWs and charging, hence the need to disembark and recheck-in. As always, YMMV.

We did the 2-night/3-night B2B last year and it was a pretty easy process. We booked late so we didn't have the same room but luckily we were on the same deck, just a few doors down. Our stateroom host told us to leave our bags in the room and they moved it down the hall for us.

It took awhile for the ship to disembark, they were running a little late so we all waited in WaveBands until the last guest was off. We went to the terminal to check back in and waited maybe 20-30 minutes before we could re-board. Cove Cafe was really the only area open so we hung out on Deck 10. Pro tip - all drinks are complimentary in the Cove Cafe during this time, I'm assuming because their systems aren't ready to charge your account yet.

We did the 2-night cruise to nowhere out of San Diego in May 2014, followed by the 5-night cruise to Vancouver, BC. My trip report notes said that we met in the Cadillac Lounge at 10:00 AM, were escorted out as a group, and were able to re-check in and get our new KTTW cards in about 10 minutes. There were free drinks for us in the Outlook Lounge when we re-boarded. If you are interested, look on page 4 of my trip report in my signature - I think it was post 72 or 74. It was a FUN experience, and I would do it again. :)
